Pitch for the Planet – bring your eco idea to life 🌍

Do you have an idea that could help your organisation become more environmentally sustainable? 🍃

Pitch for the Planet is a new participatory grant programme supporting Bolton’s VCSE sector to take practical climate action. We’re inviting local organisations to submit a simple proposal for a sustainability idea they would like to test, start or grow.

Your idea could be small but powerful. For example, you might want to:

- Send staff or volunteers on sustainability training
- Buy equipment to reduce energy use or waste
- Run a community event to share your environmental work
- Trial a new eco initiative within your organisation

Grants of up to £750 are available to help turn the best ideas into action.

Shortlisted organisations will be invited to take part in a friendly Pitch for the Planet event, where you’ll have 3 minutes to present your idea to a public audience. After hearing all the pitches, the audience will vote on which ideas they think should receive funding.

The event will be a relaxed and inspiring evening with food, conversation and the chance to hear about the creative ways Bolton organisations are responding to the climate challenge.

Application deadline: Midnight, 2 April 2026
Pitch for the Planet event: 29 April 2026, 6:00pm

This is part of the Bolton Eco Toolkit, supporting VCSE organisations to start where they are and take meaningful environmental action.
