As some of my children will be starting school in September. I have had a few spaces opening up. Some have already been filled but I do have one space still available. I accept the 15 and 30 hours funding. Do you have a child starting school or preschool in September 2027? If you would like to find out more details, then please drop me a message by phone or through my work pages.

I planned a loose theme of 'under the sea' this week as the children spotted the sea creatures last week and got excited. l am however, always mindful of the changes (which can happen very quickly) or adaptions depending on how play develops. Children steer their learning and sometimes in unique ways you would never expect!

20th May ๐Ÿ
Happy Bee Day! Bees are so important to the health of our planet that they have their own special day.
The event takes place each year, to spread awareness of the significance of bees.
They help to provide a lot of the food that you eat. Bees help to grow fruit and vegetables by flying around and pollinating plants.
โ€ข Some bees might visit as many as 2,000 flowers every single day
โ€ข Honey bees can remember landmarks so they know where their hive is
โ€ข Bees flap their wings about 200 times every single second when they're flying
โ€ข Honey bees fly about 500 miles in their lives - that's like flying from Edinburgh to Paris!
โ€ข There are about 20,000 different species of bee in the world
โ€ข A worker bumble bee can carry pollen that weighs half as much as them!

This week we have been exploring the very important role of a nurse. On Tuesday it was International Nurses Day. We worked really hard looking after all our patients but found out we also had a lot of paperwork to do!

Two of our littlies have been poorly this week. We really have missed them. We hope they are well enough to return next week.

May the 4th - May the 10th is Hedgehog Awareness Week. It aims to raise awareness of hedgehogs and their declining population in the United Kingdom. It was launched by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) to highlight the threats facing hedgehogs and to promote efforts to protect and conserve the species.
Through campaigns and educational projects, the BHPS raises awareness for how we can help these much-loved creatures. They fund research that provides important new insights into the welfare of hedgehogs. On Thursday we visited 'The Hive' building homes for the hedgehogs, and learning interesting facts like a baby hedgehog is called a hoglet. The lovely volunteer built a fire and read us a story about a hedgehog, his spikes and a balloon. On Friday we made yummy bread
hedgehogs, using our scissors to snip and make the 'spikes'.
Do you know how many different species of hedgehogs can be found in the world?
