Both holidays enjoyed by all, people got the opportunity to go to Jura for the day, some visiting the distillery there, others got the opportunity to go to Colonsay and when the tide was out walked over the sands to Oronsay. A trip to the newly refurbished rosebank distillery in Falkirk for some cosy wee tours members. This distillery closed in 1994and reopened this year, 30 years later. They have done a fantastic job to this building. The tour itself was very informative and worth doing. And a couple of wee half's at the end. Enjoyed by all.

Holiday to Belfast to visit the Titanic quarter, the musem itself and the city of Belfast, we also visited Carrickfergus and the Giants Causeway and the famous rope bridge, which we saw from a distance. We also took in the open top city bus tour, which takes in both sides. One night we went to a restaurant called the revolucion de Cuba for a meal , they were teaching Salsa, fantastic to watch. Holiday to Buxton in Derbyshire.. We travelled by coach from Glasgow to Buxton. We stayed at the Palace hotel in the centre of Buxton, a very nice hotel and easy access to everything in the town. Buxton is a lovely town on the fringes of the peak district, at a height of over 1,000ft above sea level Buxton is the joint highest market town in England, but is perhaps most famous for its 'healing' spa waters. And these days drinking water (Everybody knows Buxton water).
Visitors have travelled to bathe in Buxton's mineral waters for thousands of years. Buxton is also deservedly renowned for its beautiful Georgian and Victorian architecture - much of it linked with the 5th Duke of Devonshire. Whilst we were there we visited Poole's cavern which is a long cave under the hills of Buxton rich in Limestone with lots of stalactites and stalagmites. Very interesting place to visit. We also took the opportunity to visit Chatsworth house, home of the duke of Devonshire. Impressive house but even more impressive gardens. We also visited the towns of Bakewell and Matlock. Which are both lovely market towns. Overall Derbyshire and the Peak district is a great area to visit. Buxton is a lovely place as are all the wee towns and villages nearby. A good holiday enjoyed by all.
