Most beauty technicians use the tools they can buy. Lydia makes hers.

is a Korean lash lift specialist and brow technician here at The Secret Warehouse. The lash lift is the treatment that lifts and curls your own lashes rather than attaching extensions on top — low maintenance, no infills, and it simply grows out.

At some point she started developing her own glueless shields, sold as , in a range of curls and sizes. The reason is straightforward: eye shapes differ, and a single shield doesn't suit all of them. She uses her own range in the treatment room and selects the curl to suit the client in front of her.

She ships that range internationally too. A technique refined in a treatment room in Kirkdale is now in the hands of lash technicians who'll never set foot in the building.

She's also one of a small number of residents who credit The Secret Warehouse in her bio, which we notice and appreciate.

Somebody in this building spends their working day photographing other people's businesses.
andco are a content and social media agency covering Liverpool and the North West, and .studio is their studio — the room where the shooting actually happens, here at The Secret Warehouse. Proper backdrop, proper lighting, camera tethered to a laptop so you can see the shot as it's taken.

Their pitch is a sensible one. Instead of scrambling for something to post twice a week for the rest of your life, you book a content day, shoot a batch properly, and come away with enough to stop thinking about it for a while.

That argument works wherever you're based. It works better when the studio is two doors down from your own.

Four clinics. Essex, Manchester, Leeds, and this one.

do non-surgical hair replacement — hair systems designed around the individual, fitted and cut in, with no surgery and no recovery time involved. Callum Morris started the business around six years ago and it has grown into one of the larger operations of its kind in the UK, with an accredited training academy running alongside the clinics. They were named Hair Replacement Company of the Year at the Prestige Awards in Essex.

Their Liverpool clinic is here, on Syren Street.

We think that's worth saying out loud. A business with four sites could put its Liverpool clinic anywhere in the city, and it chose ours.

Everyone has one. The dress that's perfect apart from the length. The suit that fits everywhere except the shoulders. The thing that cost proper money and has been worn exactly once.

has been making and altering clothes in Liverpool since 2005 — twenty-one years of getting things to actually fit.

Debbie is best known for the bespoke work: bridal gowns, prom, race day and one-off pieces, measured and hand-fitted from scratch with no off-the-shelf sizing. But alterations and tailoring are the part most people actually need, and the part nobody advertises. It's also how a lot of her customers meet her before they come back for something bigger.

Prom's been and gone and Aintree's a way off yet. If there's something in your wardrobe that nearly works, now's the time.

There are three words in our bio we've never actually explained: rent without risk.

It means exactly what it says. No five-year lease. No dilapidations clause you find out about in 2031. No personal guarantee demanded on a business that's been going eight months.

You take a room on flexible terms. If it works, you stay. If you outgrow it, you move up the building — several people here have done exactly that, and it's why we ended up building extra studios in the yard. And if it doesn't work out, you leave, and nobody pursues you for four more years of rent on a room you're not sitting in.

That's the offer. Private studios, salons, offices and training rooms, alongside fulfilment, sourcing, compliance and logistics for brands that are scaling. Twenty-four independent businesses across beauty, tattooing, photography, fashion, dog grooming, property services, events, wellbeing and training.

There's a version of this job where you do brows. And there's the version where you teach a room full of other people to do brows, and they go off and open their own places.

is firmly the second one. Kate has been going since 2015, and alongside the treatments — brow shaping, tinting, lamination, microblading, Korean lash lift — she runs brow mastery courses and lash lift training, with masterclasses that fill up properly.

The people who finish those courses aren't her customers. They're competitors she deliberately created, which tells you something about how she thinks about the trade.

She still takes clients, and she still posts about it more than almost anyone we know. She just worked out a while ago that the ceiling on doing it yourself is lower than the ceiling on teaching it.

Most people's idea of a headshot is a beige wall, a lanyard and a forced smile. Look at the photograph again — that's a headshot too.

Same brief: an image you can put on a website, a LinkedIn profile, a pitch deck or a casting call. The difference is it's shot like a portrait rather than an ID card. It takes about the same amount of your time. It just doesn't look like everybody else's.

covers headshots for LinkedIn and company profiles, leadership and board photography, personal branding, acting and corporate work — one person or an entire team, either in the Liverpool studio or at your own premises.

Worth saying, since half the building has been meaning to sort theirs out: if you run a business and your profile photo is still a cropped wedding photo from 2019, this is the fix.

Most people have never had a Japanese head spa, so it's worth explaining what one actually is.

You lie back into a basin. Warm running water, scalp exfoliation, a luxury herbal cleanse and mask, then a scalp, neck and chest massage, a natural facial, and a blow dry at the end. Roughly an hour of someone working on your head while you are required to do absolutely nothing.

That's what does, and she has just moved into The Secret Warehouse.

She also works in reiki, and offers the two together — Crown Healing adds crown chakra reiki to the head spa treatment, and there's a longer version with a full body massage.

It's the most unusual thing in this building, and if you carry your stress in your shoulders and jaw like most people do, it's the one to try.

Your photographer is taking photographs. Somebody has to be filming.

That's the gap a wedding content creator fills, and it's why couples increasingly book both. Not the formal set pieces — the bit where he can't get the veil untangled and the pair of you are laughing about it, or your mum's face during the speeches. Shot vertically, edited quickly, and in your hands while the day is still fresh rather than eight weeks later.

has just moved into The Secret Warehouse. She works across weddings and events, in the UK and abroad, with 27,000 people following the work — and a photography arm at alongside it.

Two new businesses moved in this month.

brings Japanese head spa and reiki. If you haven't come across a head spa before, it's an hour or so of scalp exfoliation, warm water, a herbal cleanse, a natural facial and a blow dry — and it's easily the most unusual treatment on site.

is a wedding and event content creator working across the UK and abroad, with a photography arm and a content studio alongside it.

A fortnight ago we posted about having built extra studios in the yard because the main building had filled up. This is what that looks like in practice — the rooms don't stay empty for long.

We'll introduce both of them properly over the next couple of days.
