One thing I've noticed recently is that the people making the biggest waves aren't always the busiest, yet we're fooled into thinking busy = successful.

They're usually the people who put themselves in rooms with good people, good ideas and honest conversations.

I watched a conversation at a Ribbons meeting recently turn from a challenge someone was facing into three practical ideas and an introduction. All before breakfast.

That's the sort of thing that sticks with me.

Most networking isn’t networking… it’s just noise.

“I can show up as myself… and that’s enough.”

For a lot of people, networking feels like a performance. Saying the right things, positioning yourself a certain way. Trying to come across as polished or impressive.

And it’s exhausting.

But real connections don’t come from that. They come from people feeling comfortable enough to just be themselves.
