📢 We’re Hiring – Freelance Mentors

Go Fish Education is looking for dedicated Freelance Mentors to join our growing team from September 2025.

Our mentors work 1:1 with young people who are not currently in mainstream education. You’ll be supporting their emotional wellbeing, building trust, promoting life skills, and helping re-engage them with learning — in the community, at home, or in alternative provision settings.

✨ What the role involves:

Delivering tailored sessions to support each young person’s needs and goals
Providing a consistent, supportive adult presence
Encouraging engagement through creative, practical, or sports-based activities
Working as part of a trauma-informed, safeguarding-focused team

✅ What we’re looking for:

Experience working with children or young people, especially those with additional needs or barriers to education

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

The ability to work independently and use initiative

A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to supporting young people to thrive

🔒 Safeguarding Responsibilities

This role does involve regulated activity with children. You will be responsible for:

Maintaining professional boundaries at all times

Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately

Upholding Go Fish Education’s safeguarding policies and procedures

Ensuring the safety, welfare, and dignity of every child in your care

Go Fish Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and thorough vetting

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974
