Bank Holiday weekend + good weather, is there a better excuse for a bbq? As if you needed one!

We are open 8-5:30 Mon-Fri and 9-2 Saturday.

We have plenty of stock in and can deliver if needed. New cylinders or exchange.

Today is Aire Valley Gas' 40th birthday.
I am proud that we have been able to successfully provide a service for so long and weather the storms of the economy, various governments, industrial crises, price rises, etc along the way.
Things have changed a lot, the original reason for setting up the business was to provide a same day delivery service to cabinet heater users, something that nobody else was doing in any sort of delivery service. We used walkie-talkie radios for that.
Gas for a heater was around £7.00.
Our first vehicle was an ex Securicor mk2 lwb Ford Transit which I converted to run on gas with a fork lift truck kit. Charles used to use the van in his spare time which was quite cool in those days at 18.
Second thing was an ansaphone machine.
No mobiles, no computers, no internet and at that time no requirement for them.
Average earnings overall in 1982 was £5000 p.a. average house £31k, inflation about 9%, mortgage rate 14 to 16%, petrol 38p/litre, diesel was less, VAT 15%, 8 Prime Ministers, Margaret Thatcher in 1982. 0ne Queen, one King.
Thank you everyone who has ever availed themselves of our services, thank you to the drivers who have a hard job particularly in the cold weather when demand is at its highest and thank you to our suppliers for their confidence in us and thank you to family and friends for their support over the years.
We'll carry on and see what happens next.

May Bank Holiday is here.....nearly.
If you're finally dragging the bbq out make sure you have gas. If you're heading out in your camper/motor/caravan don't risk relying on gas refills being plentiful in popular areas
because they won't be! We stock all sizes and we have lpg/autogas in stock for refillable or fixed tanks.
We are open all day Friday and Saturday 9-2.

Look North reported a shortage of gas and cylinders last night. Although this is a challenge throughout the industry we are managing our stocks carefully and are on top of things, as we were throughout all lockdowns. As a small family run business who rely almost solely on gas sales we take pride in making sure we meet our customers needs at all times.

Imagine the scene, England are playing, your friends are round in the garden, the bbq's on aaaaaand you run out of gas! Don't ruin the (potential) celebrations by being "that guy/girl".
