We are on the lookout for our next school project. If your Bradford, Keighley or Ilkley school has broken musical instruments and equipment, message Bren on 07769 922278 and we will set a date to repair and return it, plus upgrade your music provision thanks to our community's donations!

Let the madness begin!
Thanks to support from The Leap and Bradford Council we begin our biggest school repair project ever!

Almost 2,000 pupils attend St Bede's & St Joseph's Catholic College in Bradford across their Ardor and Ignis sites and two large music departments. It is the largest Catholic College in the UK.

Our aim is to return every broken guitar, bass, keyboard, amp and musical equipment to factory working order, set up to play better than original spec on new strings with new parts, saving hundreds of kilos of equipment from waste and improving musical provision at the busy school for its students.

Music department head David Herringshaw dropped-off Ardor's first lot of instruments and amps and we got straight to work.
He even left with some of your excellent donated amps for his department, serviced by SoundCycle!

We'll keep you up to date and show you the transformation of some of the dozens of instruments as we tackle this mammoth task!

Can we help your child's school save their broken equipment and improve education in music? Ask the Music head to contact SoundCycle CIC on 07769 922278

We have been awarded a grant!

SoundCycle CIC has received Creative Climate Action funding from the-leap.org.uk and Bradford Council to help us grow regional adoption of our circular economy principles in music!

See the announcement in this BBC article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp8xy495zrno

As part of the grant guidelines we now take on our biggest school repair project to date!
But that's not all...
A condition of the grant is that we must put on a live music event showcasing equipment saved from disposal and refurbished by SoundCycle CIC
It just so happens that I am Trustee and Stage Director of The North's largest free-to-attend community festival, Saltaire Festival!

Our equipment will be used on a brand-new stage featuring eighteen acts over two days on 19th and 20th September in Saltaire!
Stay tuned for updates or visit https://www.facebook.com/SaltaireFestival

We're keen to stop the unnecessary waste of unwanted instruments and music equipment, receiving leads on items due to go to the tip or in a skip every week.

The grant will allow us to improve our provision of services to a greater number of schools with broken equipment and now PAT test each mains powered item to certify the quality of our work.

Many thanks to Andrea Dean, Deepest Shabz and Kath Clark for their support and for believing in our vision to change our city's musical culture to one of sustainability to be enjoyed by generations to come.

I have met some wonderful people this week who wish to see others benefit from their instruments and equipment.

Thank you everyone who spreads the word about SoundCycle CIC.
Donations will be serviced before going on to help countless musicians across the Bradford District.

We believe that circularity is long overdue in music, it's time to adopt a model of care, repair and recycling of valuable musical equipment for the benefit of future generations.

Jenny Zigzag's wonderful percussion, curated on her and her husband's world travels found a new home this morning at Mojo Jack Music, a fantsastic music group for young SEN adults based at Salts Hub Saltaire.
Gonzo (pictured) leads the charity and gives the budding musicians and singers many opportunities to perform around the Bradford District and we thought the percussion would be the perfect fit with their fun, energetic style.
