Practical People Management: What Managers Need to Know Now

With employment law changing and recruitment challenges continuing across Cumbria, this practical course will help managers and business owners feel more confident handling people issues in the workplace.

Taking place in Carlisle next week, the session will cover key employment law changes, managing performance and absence, recruitment practices and handling difficult conversations.

The course is designed for busy managers and focuses on practical, real-world situations.

Cumbria Tourism has been working with the ‘Kabul 2 Keswick’ project to run three employment events for refugees in the Cumberland area over the past week.

These were held in Workington, Whitehaven and Carlisle and the refugees are from a number of countries including; Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Iraq.

Cumbria Tourism is now actively looking for job opportunities or work placements for the refugees.
