£3,000. 🎉
That’s how much a new venture or side business will be able to earn before tax kicks in, up from £1,000 today.
It was one of the quieter announcements in Wednesday’s Budget. But for anyone with a side hustle, it’s a big one.
The candles made at the kitchen table.
The weekend photography gigs.
The online craft shop. The dog walking. The bakes for the school fair that suddenly turned into orders. 🧁
From April 2027, ideas like these get a lot more room to test the waters before tax becomes part of the picture.
Here’s the thing, though. Side businesses have a habit of growing. And when they do, the questions start. Do I need to register? Should I go limited? What can I claim?
That’s where we come in. At Fusion Accountants, we help UK sole traders and new businesses get set up properly from day one, so a good idea can grow without the paperwork getting in the way.
