Last month we touched on the operational impacts of the high temperatures, since then we have had a rash of wildfires across the country, with one particularly devasting one gutting 19 houses at the nearby (to FRM offices) Stourbridge, and bringing a visit from the new Prime Minister. Talking of And...

The longest day arrives this weekend! Long awaited and celebrated by some in places like Glastonbury Tor & Stonehenge, in fact the latter was built around 5000 years ago to align with the sun at the solstice. How does this relate to waste management, well I could make a crass comparison about the ti...

We’re really pleased to be able to announce that we (Frith Resource Management) have been recertified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, by UKAS accredited Interface NRM

This is the end of our 10th year of certification to these two standards and as a small consultancy, this is something we are really proud of!

Each year we review our internal processes to ensure that we are delivering work to the highest of environmental management and quality standards and to have passed our recertification audit (with flying colours – no non conformities identified over a 2-day audit) demonstrates our commitment for continual improvement, environmental stewardship and operational efficiency. This, we believe, builds trust and credibility with our clients and is reflected in the feedback we have received.

“The services we received from FRM in relation to the contracted work were to a very high standard, were responsive, flexible, delivered on time and within budget. FRM have a broad range of knowledge, skills and expertise within the organisation and have a track record of undertaking the type of consulting work that we required. FRM’s open and supportive approach facilitated a collaborative dialogue during the delivery of the services but FRM also provided relevant guidance and handholding where necessary.” - Borough of Tower Hamlets

Here’s to the next 10 (X) years!

We have just had a major set of local elections and politics seems to be getting more polarised, but how does this affect waste management decisions? It is early days but we are still seeing clients and other Councils continuing to restrict residual waste (either by capacity or frequency), a measure...

Small WEEE (sWEEE) is a growing waste stream within the UK. We have pulled together some facts around sWEEE collections from unitary authorities using the very useful RED system. Around a quarter of all authorities offer a separate kerbside collection of sWEEE, this may be through a bookable collect...

Flexible plastic packaging constitutes between 6% and 9% by weight of the household residual (non-recycled) waste stream, of which only a small percentage is currently recycled. Under recycling reforms under the four-nation UK commitment to standardise recycling and improve infrastructure, local aut...
