Companies House rules require every limited company to have an ‘appropriate’ registered office address where post can actually be delivered and receipt acknowledged by someone acting for the company since 2024.

A PO Box no longer qualifies. Replace it with a default address or you have just 28 days to sort out a proper alternative before facing being struck off.

When Stef and Carl bought Vulcan House in 2021, they weren't thinking about therapy rooms.

They invested a six-figure sum in a Victorian building near Brighouse station a former pub dating from 1869 - with a straightforward idea: give freelancers, remote workers, and small business owners somewhere professional to work without the overhead of a long-term lease.

What followed wasn't entirely planned!

People asked about therapy rooms. Then a registered business address. Then out-of-hours access, storage space, meeting rooms suited to sensitive conversations. A wellness company grew from a postal address into several rooms. A taxi firm found they could satisfy their licensing requirement from here. None of it was in the original plan.

BrigHub has been shaped, steadily, by the people who use it 🙌🏻

Saturday morning therapy - where does that happen when you work from home?

BrigHub's therapy rooms are available evenings and weekends. Secure out-of-hours access. Free on-street parking nearby. No long lease - only book the hours you need.

Vault One is calm and enclosed, with navy panelling, warm lighting and soft seating, built for one-to-one work. The Green Room is lighter, with a living room quality that works particularly well for children and young people.

Since we opened Apartment 12 last year, it's become one of the best-rated stays in Halifax on Airbnb: 5.0 stars from over 50 reviews and guest favourite status, putting it in the top 10% of homes on the platform 🤩

Guests keep telling us the same things; the location opposite The Piece Hall is unbeatable, especially for anyone visiting for an event or a gig. The little touches (fresh milk, snacks, a treat basket) get mentioned again and again. One guest called it 'the best place we stayed on our two-week trip to England.' Another has stayed twice and said her second visit was just as good as the first.

The return to the office debate has focused mostly on employees; the commute, the culture, the pushback.

The conversation that gets less attention is what happens to the people who never had an office to return to.
