I’ve been reading Karma Capitalism by James Reed recently.

He talks about something called a ‘PhilCo’ - where at least 10% of a company’s shares are held by a charitable foundation.

In other words, philanthropy isn’t something you do on the side, it’s built into how a business is owned.

It’s a simple idea, but quite a powerful shift in how we think about giving.

Philanthropy is deeply personal, and people choose to give in many different ways. I love supporting clients to find the right giving vehicles and models for them, and I’m looking forward to adding PhilCos as another option in the mix.

I asked a few of my favourite collaborators some simple questions about working with me. This was their response.

So grateful to josierones

for such generous comments.

I’ve been supporting Smartphone Free Childhood since the early days ❤️

I believe so passionately in what they campaign for - and I love the way they do it.

So I was super excited when a new video featuring (Steel from Gladiators) landed in my inbox at a perfect time, as my 11-year-old navigates his first year at secondary school with a Nokia flip phone (when he remembers it!).

My kids adore (OK, it’s not just the kids…). We love watching it together as a family as our Saturday night ‘thing’.

Arts and culture have the power to change the world, and small examples like this are a brilliant reminder of how smart reaching people where they’re at.

What started as parents chatting on a WhatsApp group just a couple of years ago is now a movement of over 350,000 parents and carers, showing how grassroots creativity can shift culture and influence real policy. 🙌

Check out the video and celebrate with the Gladiators obsessives (young and old) in your life! ⚡️

20 years of (RED) 🔴 🙌

$800M raised. 350M lives impacted. Helping AIDS deaths come down 78%.

What I love most is how they’ve made it so easy for people and companies to turn intent into action - at scale. From a (RED) mobile to dancing to at Christmas… it all adds up. 🎵

A model we’re really inspired by at Do Good. Well.

Happy 20th, ❤️

Great to be at Guitar London, for behind-the-scenes insight on getting a tour on the road.

Brought back memories of my time on the road touring with : the magic on stage is built on months of planning (and brilliant people) before the first guitar riff fills the stadium…

Thanks to for another great event. And… how much do we love that Dolly sparkle guitar?! 🎸

✨Recently I had the privilege of creating Youth Music: Uncovered for my client - an immersive evening bringing to life the power of music as a catalyst for social change.

We moved through four ‘worlds’, led by Youth Music’s brilliant Next Gen community, exploring mental health, early years, disability and social justice through hands-on storytelling: think nail bars, DJ decks, and music made in ways you’ve never seen before.

Huge thanks to for hosting, and to for sharing his story.

We were also treated to beautiful performances from and , and the night closed with an uplifting set from . 🎶

With funding cuts putting so many grassroots projects at risk, it felt like a powerful reminder: behind every statistic is a young person with hope, talent and huge potential. Proud to support Youth Music’s work.

Thank you to the partners who brought the worlds to life: Soundcastle, AudioActive, Art Against Knives, and Open Up Music.

What an energising way to start the week ✨

Highlights from the Enterprise Summit for UK:

💡 The legendary on embracing failure and leading with your values

💡 Paul Lindley OBE (Ella’s Kitchen) on building philanthropy into how you do business

💡 MBE who founded Starling Bank at 54! Despite taking over 300 meetings before securing her first investor, it’s now valued at billions! 💪🏻

💡 Larry Sullivan on investing in schools for children with disabilities and additional needs

It reinforced what I’m seeing again and again: business for good is good business.

I’m excited about helping more founders and leaders Do Good. Well – making it easier to integrate philanthropy into businesses that are both commercially smart and genuinely committed to social impact.

Last Saturday at , I was privileged to work alongside so many dedicated people for - the UK’s largest cultural fundraiser for Palestine.

With over 25 acts on the bill, a tight running order (and sauna-level heat backstage!), it was incredible to see everyone pull together on and off stage, united in support of Gaza’s frontline health workers operating in such unimaginable conditions.

Amid such horrific atrocities in Gaza, there was a powerful sense of hope born from the determination and solidarity of everyone involved.

The event was a reminder that, even in the face of the lowest acts of humanity, there’s incredible strength in what’s possible when we come together.

The dedication, late nights, and hard work from everyone involved (all-volunteer-led) was humbling. What an honour to stand alongside such passionate people.

The silent auction supporting is live until 3 August—with funds going through trusted partners directly where it’s needed most in Gaza. Link in bio.

Beyond chuffed to be mentioned in ‘Six Conversations We’re Scared To Have’, the latest brilliant book by Deborah Frances-White, bestselling author of

The premise is that if we’re to make real change in our society, we need to have difficult, scary conversations. To listen, compromise and recognise when to change our minds.

Deb explores all the tough conversations it feels much safer not to have. Gender. Cancel Culture. Freedom of Speech. Topics that cause social media frenzy and chaos at Christmas after Uncle Reg has had a couple of drinks and decides to share what he really thinks over the turkey! As usual, she utterly nails it. Because if we don’t agree - let’s talk about it (but maybe not over the turkey).

This book sings to the power of connection. In a world that feels divided and where so many people feel isolated and lonely (something the far-right is all too ready to exploit), we need to unite, find our shared humanity and build real, positive connections. Philanthropy is a great way to do that. But first and foremost, we need to talk.

It’s such a fantastic book (go Deb!👏). I’d really recommend grabbing a copy (and as an added bonus, you’ll find me on page 318!).
