Anyone seen the Mike Tyson documentary on Netflix? 🥊
One thing I find fascinating about elite athletes is the power of what they see in their mind before they do it in real life.
In sport, it’s not just about physical ability. It’s also about belief, focus, mental rehearsal and how you respond when the pressure is on.
Visualisation can help you mentally rehearse a performance before you step into the ring, onto the golf course or into any situation where nerves might get in the way.
And self-belief isn’t about pretending you’ll never make a mistake. It’s about learning to trust yourself, stay focused on what you can control and respond when things don’t go to plan.
That’s where Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy can help. 🧠
I work with people to help them manage stress, build confidence and strengthen the mental side of their performance — because sometimes, the biggest battle isn’t against your opponent. It’s with what’s happening between your ears.
Have you watched it yet? And what do you think matters most in sport: talent, mindset or the combination of both? 👇
DM me mindset if you want to start working on your mindset through solution focused hypnotherapy.

⛳️ PUTTING ISN’T JUST ABOUT TECHNIQUE…
We spend so much time talking about putting technique: grip, stance, stroke, alignment…
But what happens between your ears can make a huge difference too. 🧠
Can you stay calm?
Can you commit to your read?
Can you trust your decision?
Can you deal with pressure when it matters?
This was one of the longest putts I’ve ever had, around 80 feet and after a previous attempt that only just made it over the water, I had another chance.
This time, I gave myself a good read, committed to the putt… and it rolled pretty much all the way to the hole.
It didn't drop, but that's golf!
And that's exactly why the mental game matters.
I’ve got a whole series coming on the mental game of putting, plus some putting hypnosis audios, so if you want to become a better putter, not just technically, but mentally — keep watching.

Most golfers visualise the perfect shot.

But what if you also visualised what happens when things DON'T go to plan?

Michael Phelps was known for mentally rehearsing potential problems before competing, so he already had a response ready.

Golfers can do the same.

Picture the bad drive.

Picture the poor approach.

Picture the missed putt.

Then rehearse yourself taking a breath, accepting it and calmly moving on.

Don't just rehearse success. Rehearse your response to setbacks.

18/10/2026

⛳ Sometimes, it's about much more than golf. 🧠
Many golfers come to me wanting to feel calmer in competitions, stop overthinking their shots or build confidence on the course.
But as we work together, other things can come to light.
Stress. Anxiety. Poor sleep. Low confidence. Fears and phobias. Feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
Sometimes, the thing affecting your golf is connected to what's happening elsewhere in your life. And sometimes, you simply have something else you'd like support with.
Through Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy, we can work towards positive changes in the areas that matter to you — whether the issue feels big, small, golf-related or completely unrelated.
You don't need to wait until you're at breaking point to seek support. And you don't need to have everything figured out before you start.
If something is holding you back, let's talk about what you'd like to change. 💬

Did you know Tiger Woods was deliberately distracted during practice?

His dad would make noises, jingle keys and create distractions while Tiger was hitting shots, helping him learn to stay focused when things weren't perfect.

And you can use the same idea in your own practice.

Try putting while someone is talking. Practise when the range is busy. Get used to noise and distractions.

Because you can't always control what's happening around you.

But you can train your ability to focus.

If you'd like help with your focus for golf performance or in other areas of your life, send me a DM and I'd be happy to chat about how solution focused hypnotherapy can help.

DO THIS BEFORE YOUR NEXT ROUND IF YOUR YIPS WON'T GO

If you've got the yips, please remember this:

Having the yips doesn't automatically mean you've lost your ability.

Your brain may have learned a pattern that interferes with a skill you already have.

So instead of rehearsing:

“Don't yip.”

“Don't miss.”

“Don't do it again.”

Start rehearsing the response you actually want.

See yourself staying calm.

See the shot.

Feel the movement.

Trust your preparation.

And imagine yourself responding differently in the situations that normally trigger you.

Your brain learns through repetition.

So give it a different experience to practise.

If you've found this series useful, save it and send it to a golfer who needs to hear it.

11/10/2026

DID THIS SHOT CAUSE YOUR YIPS?

Can you remember the shot where your yips started?

For some golfers, there's a very specific moment they can point to.

A missed putt.

A terrible chip.

A competition where they suddenly couldn't trust their hands.

Your brain can store these experiences and the associations around them.

Then, when you're faced with something similar later, your brain can recognise the situation and essentially say:

“Hang on… we've been here before.”

That can trigger the same emotional and physical response.

The good news?

A learned association isn't necessarily permanent.

Part 4 of my Yips Series.

7 things that can happen in the moments before a yip:

1️⃣ You remember a previous bad shot.
2️⃣ Your brain predicts it might happen again.
3️⃣ You become hyper-aware of your hands or club.
4️⃣ You start trying to control your movement.
5️⃣ Your muscles become tense.
6️⃣ You hesitate or change your routine.
7️⃣ You start thinking: “Please don't do it.”

And here's the important bit…

Your brain isn't necessarily trying to sabotage you.

It's trying to protect you.

Your emotional brain can learn that a particular situation is something to be cautious about — even when logically you know you're safe.
