We do a lot of sales skills training, and as a team, we often have conversations about what makes a great salesperson and the importance of adapting to the colour preferences of the people we're doing business with.

But there’s one thing we can sometimes overlook: being our most authentic selves.

It’s valuable to understand others and adapt our approach to make conversations more comfortable and effective for them. But how do we do that while still staying true to who we are?

In this video, Ric explores how you can use your authentic self as your superpower. Because the most successful sales conversations happen when we’re attuned to both ourselves and others, adapting where needed, while still bringing our own strengths, personality and authenticity to the table.

After all, great sales isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself.

How people respond to change is not one-size-fits-all

When change hits, people do not all react in the same way.

Some move quickly. Some need time. Some want information straight away, while others need space to process before they can engage. That is why understanding individual differences matters so much when leading through change.

In this video, Ric explores the human change curve and how different colour preferences may move through it in different ways. One of the key points is simple: at the bottom of the curve is time. People will not all reach acceptance or action at the same pace.

That is where leaders make the biggest difference.

Being transparent, sharing information early, and communicating openly with your team can help people move through resistance more effectively. It creates more trust, reduces uncertainty, and supports people in the moments when they need it most.

Change is rarely easy. But with the right approach, it becomes much easier to navigate.

Creating psychological safety in the workplace this Pride Month

Psychological safety is not created by avoiding difficult conversations. It is created when people feel able to speak openly, use the right language, and bring things into the open rather than keeping them bottled up.

That matters all year round, but especially during Pride Month, when inclusion is not just about awareness, it is about action.

In this video, Ric explains why getting things out, rather than keeping them in, is such an important part of building a safe work environment. When people feel able to talk honestly, teams can build more trust, stronger relationships, and a culture where people feel they belong.

For organisations, that starts with creating the right space for open conversation, and making sure teams have the language and confidence to use it well.

“I get nervous about public speaking.”

It’s one of the most common things we hear at our training days.

And the truth is, nerves don’t just disappear.

What matters more is understanding how you approach speaking situations, so you can plan properly and give yourself the best chance of success.

Good preparation doesn’t remove nerves completely, but it does help you feel more in control, more confident, and more ready to deliver.

Public speaking is a skill. Like any skill, it gets easier with the right support, reflection, and practice.

We don’t just deliver this training, we use it too.

Recently, we ran our own team effectiveness session, and it was a great reminder of the value of understanding how we each work best.

As our team continues to grow, taking time to share our profiles and working preferences helped us strengthen collaboration, support each other through change, and align on our business goals.

Key takeaways:
✅ Better understanding of each other's working styles
✅ Stronger support during change and new projects
✅ Greater alignment on our goals and objectives

A big thank you to Emma for facilitating a fantastic session, complete with a quiz that brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition. And judging by his choice of accessory, we think Oakley might be hinting at his colour preference! 🐶💛

Most managers coach the way they want to be coached, and that’s where coaching breaks down.

A Fiery Red wants directness.
An Earth Green needs reassurance.
A Cool Blue values structure.
A Sunshine Yellow thrives on energy and ideas.

Great coaching isn’t one-style-fits-all.
It’s about adapting to the person in front of you.

The good news? Effective coaching conversations don’t need to take hours, sometimes 2 minutes is enough.

Week 7 of our Sales Skills Bootcamp at Platf9rm

Yesterday’s focus: building a clear Sales Action Plan.

Founders worked on setting ambitious targets and turning them into SMART objectives they can actually execute on.

A big highlight was having experienced sales coaches and mentors in the room, giving real feedback and helping founders sharpen their strategy.

Lots of great conversations, practical advice, and stronger sales plans coming out of the day 💡

Excited to see these plans put into action.

We’re seeing a real shift toward a feedback revolution: moving beyond one-off reviews to ongoing coaching conversations that support reflection, clarity, and growth.

Effective feedback isn’t about telling people what to do. It’s about listening well, asking better questions, and coaching consistently over time.
That’s why our programmes are supported by My 360 Goals, helping turn feedback into clear goals and measurable progress.
