It is with a deep sadness that we have all learnt the news of the death of our dear friend and client, Jason Sutton. Actor, Presenter, and Drag Performer.
Jason was best known for his character Miss Jason: a cheeky and vibrant character that he created over many years of skilful analysis and spot-on timing. Miss Jason, loved by thousands of fans all over the UK performed for weekend party audiences across the country but was at home with his Brighton, London, and Bournemouth audiences.
Children loved his antics as a Pantomime Dame throughout the country, working for First Family, Paul Holman, Qdos, and other major producers. Here in Brighton he gave us excellence as Acting Captain Terri Dennis in Privates on Parade at the Theatre Royal where he also appeared in Boys in the Band. He was a wonderful broken down and vengeful old dame in the play Twinkle and he brought delight to thousands every year at Brighton Pride. His tireless and endless work for charity was something he loved, helping to raise thousands of pounds every year with his friends and fellow performers. A beacon of light for the LGBTQ+ community across the UK and anyone else he entertained in carrying out a fundraiser event.
It is impossible to cover in a few paragraphs the full extent of Jasonβs many talents, nor the love that he held for so many communities across Brighton and beyond. It is equally impossible to convey how deeply he was cherished and valued by his friends and the community. Our thoughts go out to his partner Terry and to all who loved him.
