When you work with me, you don’t just get to rid yourself of a few admin tasks. I mean you do end up having less on your to do list and more time…

But more importantly you get someone else in your corner.

Someone who cares as much about your business as you do.

Someone who you can talk to about new ideas and plans, who will help you navigate them and ease the pressure.

When I work with someone, it’s a working relationship built on trust and mutual respect.

And that is priceless. Well almost.. a girl’s gotta eat!

(I will also accept additional gifts such as beautiful daffs like these from one of my favourite clients who I am now privileged to call a friend. 💛)

Happy Birthday to Mr B!

Sometimes I catch myself wondering if I’m doing enough... seeing friends juggle work, life admin, cooking, cleaning, and everything in between.

Then I remind myself: our relationship is balanced. We both do our part, and I feel so lucky to have married someone who genuinely shares the load, believes in equality, and models the kind of partner and parent we want our kids to see.

Thank you for being steady, reliable, and for showing our kids what a thoughtful, supportive partner looks like. I’m so grateful for you every day... especially today!

I wasn’t going to post about International Women’s Day… I felt that women as a whole deserve more than one day to celebrate themselves! But then I remembered the women who are in places or situations where they can’t do that.

And so my take on this years’s theme is to lift one another up rather than putting each one another down. And by collectively celebrating one another, we all become more successful.

It’s not dark at 7am any longer!!!! Brighter days are coming my friends!

This homemade roasted tomato with spinach and lentil soup is a classic case of "don't judge a book by it's cover" or in this case, "don't judge a soup by it's colour"...

Am I super busy today with a task list as long as my arm? YES
Does that mean that I work through lunch or eat at my desk to get it all done? HELL NO!

And if you haven't taken a break today my friend, have a word with yourself! Because if you think that working through your lunch and sitting for hours on end at your desk makes you better at your job, you'd be wrong.

Not only is not having a break bad for your posture, your muscles, your mind but it's also been proven by numerous studies that regular breaks, consistent meals and moving your body are better for your productivity as well as your overall wellbeing.

And what's more, neglecting yourself of the basics is demonstrating a serious lack of self respect!

So show your self some decency and boost your productivity and go and have a walk, a stretch, some food and see how much better you feel afterwards!

Have you ever noticed how groups of people sometimes unite against a common “enemy” or someone who doesn’t quite fit in? I find it really interesting. I think it comes from the need within most of us for belonging and agreement. When people feel uncertain or out of alignment, it’s easier to rally together around someone who’s different or not as well liked. It’s less about the person and more about the group finding a sense of security in shared judgment.

And controversially, it doesn’t really bother me if people don’t like me! I’ve always leaned toward the “ignorance is bliss” approach. We won’t all be liked by everyone… and that’s okay. As long as I’m aligned with my own values and boundaries, other people’s opinions don’t carry much weight, especially if I don’t hear them.

The one exception and when I feel I do need to know is if I’ve genuinely crossed a line. Constructive feedback is always welcome because none of us are perfect. We’re all works in progress, learning and growing as we go. And that, to me, is what truly matters: being right with myself while staying open to becoming a better version of who I am.

So I wonder what you guys think? And have you ever been in an environment where you have experienced this kind of behaviour?

One of my favourite things about being a VA is everything I get to learn along the way.

From Transactional Analysis and understanding people a little better, to HMRC codes and accounting systems (yes, a bit dull, but surprisingly useful!), and even intuitive eating tips to keep my own nutrition on track… every client brings something new to the table.

I’ve picked up so many little tips and tricks over the years, and it keeps me on my toes. No two days are the same, and I absolutely love that I never get bored.

It’s a reminder that being a VA isn’t just about admin, it’s about curiosity, learning, and connecting with the amazing people I get to support every day.

You’ve probably heard the quote, “comparison is the thief of joy”… but I’d argue it’s also the thief of peace, balance and contentment too.

The moment we start measuring our lives or businesses against someone else’s highlight reel, we disconnect from what’s already good, working, and meaningful in our own world.

I choose instead to turn inward and focus on the progress I’ve made, the clients I serve, and the life I’m building in my own way and timing. And that’s my aim for my clients too: to support them in creating calm, clarity and confidence in their own lives, without the noise of comparison.

Most evenings, you’ll find me in the kitchen, cooking dinner for my family. It’s not glamorous, and it doesn’t always get appreciated (or at least the kids don’t always appreciate it!), but it’s important to me that they eat well, so they can be strong, healthy, and ready for whatever life throws at them.

It’s a small, everyday thing, but it makes a real difference. And I think the same applies to service providers. The work we do behind the scenes; being that supportive listener, managing spreadsheets, keeping projects on track, handling the details, might not always be visible, but it’s crucial. It keeps businesses running smoothly, allows clients to focus on what they do best, and helps everything flourish.

And that’s exactly what I aim to do: support businesses quietly and efficiently behind the scenes, so my clients can focus on growth, creativity, and the bigger picture. Sometimes, the unseen work is the most important work of all.

What’s one small thing you do behind the scenes that makes a big difference for the people around you?

We’re often told “women can have it all.”
And while I understand the intention behind that message, I don’t fully believe it.

Not because we aren’t capable.
Not because we aren’t strong or ambitious.

But because there is only one of us and only so much time, energy, and emotional capacity to go around.

Yes, you can build a successful business and be a great parent.
You can be a supportive partner, a present friend, a dedicated professional.

But you can’t be everything to everyone, all of the time and that’s okay.

At some point, choices have to be made.
Priorities have to be set.
Compromises have to happen.

The real power comes from deciding where you want to place your time and energy, instead of spreading yourself so thin that nothing truly gets the best of you.

So if you’re feeling stretched, exhausted, or like you’re somehow falling short… maybe you’re not failing.

Maybe you’re just being human.

Choose wisely.
Protect your energy.
And be honest with yourself about what really matters right now.

That’s not giving up, that’s living intentionally.
