Event medical cover from people who do this every week.

AV Group UK medics are FREC 3 and FREC 4 qualified, and every one of them arrives with their own oxygen, Entonox, AED and ECG monitor. You're booking a medic and their kit, not a person and a hope.

What's different about ours: they're also SIA-licensed door supervisors. When it's quiet they're not sat in a corner, they're helping your team. When it isn't quiet, they already know how a venue works.

Restart a Heart Day. Three things worth knowing.

1. If someone collapses and isn't breathing normally, call 999 and start chest compressions. Hard and fast, middle of the chest, and don't stop until help takes over.

2. If there's a defibrillator nearby, send someone for it. It talks you through every step, and you can't hurt someone with it.

3. CPR started straight away can double a person's chance of surviving. Doing nothing is the only wrong answer.

Every AV Group UK medic carries an AED on shift. But the first few minutes usually come down to whoever is standing closest.

Learn CPR. It takes fifteen minutes.

It's Thank Your Cleaner Day, and ours have earned it.

Our cleaning team are the reason venues open on time. They're in before anyone else, usually after a night that has left its mark, and they leave the place looking like nothing happened.

Toilets, bars, kitchens, floors: the jobs nobody notices unless they're not done.

It's National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

A good door is a fair door. Our teams don't decide who gets in based on who someone is, and they don't let anyone else make that decision inside the venue either.

If you see or hear abuse on a night out, in the queue, at the bar, in the smoking area, tell the door staff. That's what we're there for. We'd rather deal with it at the time than read about it the next day.

Everyone gets treated the same at the door. No exceptions.

We've binned the paperwork.

Every AV Group UK shift now runs on our own staff app: rota on your phone, clock in and out at the venue, incident reports filed before you've left the building, policies and assignment instructions in your pocket.

For the venues we work with, that means shift logs and reports land the same night, not on a crumpled sheet at the end of the month.

Meet Kenzie, one AV Group UK's Door Supervisors!

Kenzie has been with us for around three months, and you'll usually find him on the door in Bath on a Friday and Saturday.

Best part of the job?

"Talking to new people and regular people every day, building that initial connection and maintaining it with customers."

One thing people get wrong about door staff?

"I think there’s this common stereotype that door staff are meant to be rough and “hard”. However, I think most venues nowadays, while at the same time appreciating that and sometimes needing it, also require customer service. That initial introduction to customers as they walk inside is sometimes the most important interaction at the venue."

It's Service with Respect Day, part of National Customer Service Week.

Here's the thing about door staff: the first person a customer meets at a venue is ours. Not the bar team, not the DJ. Us.

So a good door does more than check IDs. Say hello. Read the queue. Spot the person who's had too much before they reach the bar. Make the right call without making it a scene. Give respect, get it back.

Good security is good customer service. They were never two different jobs.
