A pinch-me moment today! First time seeing the new Temple Quarter University of Bristol campus, and our textile pieces as part of artist Ellie Shipman’s Soft Monument, a collection of works tracing and paying tribute to the hidden role of women in shaping Bristol’s industrial history.

It’s been a dream project to work on, with a dream team - not only Ellie and our very talented weavers and designers at Dash + Miller and The Bristol Weaving Mill, but the wider community of artists, creatives, makers, designers and community groups who have been part of this process. The teams at Bristol University and The Contemporary Art Society have also been wonderful to work with, incredibly supportive and collaborative.

Panels and cushions woven and stitched in British wool from using a combination of handloom and industrial weaving, at our Bristol design studio and Weaving Mill, less than a mile away from the Temple Quarter campus.

And to top it off, a write up in the guardian (and a tiny photo too)!

A very belated thank-you to the wonderful Anna and Cristian from Frankenstein Press for the most amazing staff day out. We visited them back in December 2025 and spent a brilliantly creative day exploring block and lino printing.

Anna and Cristian were beyond generous with their time, knowledge and expertise, and we all came away with something we were proud of. They have made Frankenstein Press an important part of their local community, and we can see why! We urge anyone who wants to try their hand at printing to contact them, their passion and warm generosity is infectious!

We've cut off a new batch of portfolio samples today ✂️

Libby visited the Iris Van Herpen exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum whilst in NYC earlier this month.

We’re endlessly inspired by the technicality and innovation of the work produced at Iris Van Herpen, so what a special opportunity to deep dive into the sampling and inner workings of the studio.

On Wednesday evening we opened our doors for a private viewing of the fifth jacquard work in the series, ‘Tapestry of Black Britons’, by Paula Ogun Hector.

The newest work documents and celebrates ‘Carnival in Britain’. It is always a privilege and pleasure to work with Paula and play a part in bringing these stories to life.

It brought us so much joy to share the weaving process with our guests, and a reminder of how special the craft of weaving is.

On the loom today!

Process: Threading the loom. Prepping the loom to weave a sample for a very special client.

Setting up the loom is just as important as the design and weaving of the sample, the warp and loom set-up determines what the fabric will be. At this stage we already know what we want the final fabric to be like, we can visualise it, now we need to set up the loom and weave the sample to see the proof of concept. Can’t wait to see how this one turns out!
