Hi everyone, I think it’s time I give you all an update…

As many of you know I had my little boy 14 months ago. Whilst motherhood has been a magical and incredibly special time for me the first 6 months were some of the hardest I’ve ever experienced. I naively thought I’d be able to leap back into work as a new parent… what I didn’t realise at the time was that I was suffering from PPD making this impossible.

Once Ru hit 6 months a cloud lifted and I have not wanted to spend anytime doing anything other than being his mum. A surprise pregnancy which I became aware of 7 months pp confirmed for me that now is not the time to focus on my career. My intention is to focus on my business baby as of September 2026 giving myself another full year of maternity leave with our little girl.

This pregnancy has flown by & I’m in the final stretch now. We cannot wait to meet our baby girl but are currently being closely monitored due to her being on the smaller side. If anyone has any advice or positive stories about their SGA baby I would love to hear them.

I’m hoping to be more active on here however I can’t make any promises with the impending arrival!

Thank you all for all the supportive messages I’ve received ###

A rough routine for you mamas of 6-8 months olds! Remember go off your baby’s cues because these are based off averages but it’s a great guide to know where to start with sleep.
Most babies will drop down to 2 naps during this period. Some babies will need this a bit shorter or not at all and instead have an earlier bedtime. Keep an eye on next weeks posts on how to manage dropping naps!

Next up in the series… a rough sleep guide for you mamas who’s babies are 5 months old. At this age we’d hope for naps to be beginning to get back to the 45 minute mark + as little one moves out of the 4 month sleep ‘pro’gression. However remember all babies are different and this may take longer for some.

Key things at this age are to really start focusing on building sleep associations to aid with slightly more independent sleep (if that is what you want)!

Here’s your very rough sleep routine for 4 months!
Remember this is only a guide based on averages and your baby may need less/more sleep than this.

Now this point of your babies sleep journey is likely to be hard & will have lots of changes. Many babies experience short ‘crap naps’ at this point. This is why the routine is expecting/allowing for short naps. IF your child is happy to sleep longer than this I would let them nap for up to 2 hours maximum at a time. However few children will be doing this at this point.

As always ask questions below and I’ll answer them for you!

Here’s the next in my series of example routines for your child. I will be covering all ages from newborn – 5 years over the coming weeks so make sure to like/save the post to be more likely to be shown when I post your child’s age. A big disclaimer with all these routines is that they are based on the average child of that age. Please check out my video on wake windows to help work out how you need to adjust this routine for your child!
