A long time since SongSmith have got involved in music but QJB's side project David Bowie covers band GoDBowie has some gigs in January and still looking for a support act for one of the dates in Exeter. I know there's a lot of musicians out there and my knowledge on the current scene is way out of date- .... If you think it could be you or know someone who might fit the bill - please see below.

Focus today is on Exeter. We have a 30-40 minute support set available for a suitable, preferably local, act. Solo or duo preferred who resonates with our GoDBowie project and who’s music picks up perhaps some aspect of Bowie and his work. Can be mostly or all originals. I have got out of touch with who is out there and active since my SongSmith promoter days. Please PM band page or me directly or put recommendations in the comments. This is the last piece in our jigsaw for the trio of birthday and Blackstar anniversary shows.

Sickened and saddened to read of the fatal stabbings in Bristol over the weekend. I know these things occur in the best regulated of places and Bristol probaby has never been that but .... what has happened to my city .... I still think of it as home though it's been a while. I'd still come back tomorrow if money were no object.

SongSmith Global release the latest QJB track, a collaboration with dance meister Rich Earnshaw. The Inner Spirit remix of What Makes You Happy is released ahead of the song version which will come towards the end of the summer. This track has already got positive feedback from DJ and dancefloors alike in Ibiza. So as the party season goes into full manic mode the track is also available to stream and download from now on Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Millions of years ago, the last gig SongSmith Bristol were due to put on was at Thunderbolt Bristol and on the bill were a band from the south coast called ://www.facebook.com/verracruzband. Lockdown came the gig never happened. Lockdown went SongSmith had left Bristol forever.

Tonight thanks to mutual friends Held By Trees I finally get to hear them.

Truly global ....

A colleague in the US is offering discounted tickets for the Songchasers Bootcamp in Nashville. You're hearing it here first. PM if it's of any interest. It's soon …. Weekend after next.
