🚨 CASE STUDY ALERT! 🚨
Reception areas are where first impressions begin 💡
At The National Mathematics and Science College in Warwickshire, the brief was to create a reception lighting scheme that felt as ambitious and innovative as the students using the campus.
The result was a bespoke “sun” feature above the reception desk, inspired by science, mathematics and symmetry, and designed to mirror the pattern on the floor below.
A slim ring-shaped suspended Ouse luminaire became the centrepiece of the installation, supported by full lighting design, lux level calculations and smooth dimming to make sure the feature worked beautifully as well as visually.
It is a brilliant reminder that architectural lighting can do more than complete a space. It can tell a story, reinforce identity and create a memorable welcome from the moment someone walks in ✨
Because when a reception area reflects the purpose of a place, first impressions become much more powerful.
