Thinking of you all during this exceptionally hot weather. Take the heatwave seriously. This is our WARM WEATHER CARRYING guide. Hot, high temperatures require special consideration. Please do not babywear if you feel it is unsafe to do so. Please do seek out air conditioning and safe, practical cooling measures.

Carrying your child when the weather gets warmer needs some extra consideration, especially if you are not used to warmer temperatures.

TEMPERATURE REGULATION
Make sure that both your baby and the person carrying the baby do not overheat. A thin cloth between your body and baby can help absorb sweat and keep you both cooler.

KEEP HYDRATED
Make sure you have access to enough water and if your baby is breastfed they have plenty opportunities to feed.

SUN PROTECTION
The Solar Integra provides UV protection.
Areas of skin not covered can be protected through hats, thin layers, sun cream and shade. All Integra Models can be used in warmer weather - the integra design provides a comfortable ergonomic way to carry in all weather.

AIRFLOW
Always make sure that there is plenty of airflow around your baby’s face and that any material used to shade their head is not obstructing either the flow of the air or your view of your baby.

TAKE A BREAK
Remain aware of both your own and your baby’s comfort and take a break when needed.

This week I have availability for 1:1 consultations in person or online on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Sling and carrier hire is available any day, either by post or by doorstep collection from BS3 2BB.

My Summer Sling/Carrier Offer of six weeks' hire for £25 (buckle and tie on carriers), and £18 (ring slings, toddler hip carriers and woven wraps) is available until July 10th.

I will then be taking a break for a little over three weeks, so if you're planning to hire later in July or early August, please get in touch now so that you don't miss out!

With the weather set to get warmer over the coming days, why not hire something that will keep you and your little one cooler?

A week's hire of a ring sling, hip carrier or woven wrap is only £5 and a buckle carrier £7. So if you're looking to hire for a holiday, day trip or special event, get in touch to discuss options!

As a special offer over the Summer months, you can also hire for six weeks for a discounted price. Ring slings, hip carriers and woven wraps for £18 and buckle carriers for £25.

Note that all hires of newborn suitable buckle carriers (Neko Tiny, Ergobaby Embrace, Boba Bliss) will be £15 for six weeks.

To take advantage of this offer, all hires must start before 10th July.

Anna will be back at Portishead Youth Centre on Monday 15th June, a little later than usual from 10am to 11:15, with slings and carriers for you to try and hire.

Fittings of your own slings/carriers or to try from the library cost from £5-£10. Hires will be for three weeks or less as Anna will be back on Monday July 6th in three weeks time.

New carrier incoming! This Comfort Fit Baby Carrier from arrived today so I'll be having a play with it over the weekend and will post some photos/videos so you can see how it fits.

It'll be available to hire from next week!
