🪣MUD, BONES, AND CHAMPAGNE 🪏
We spent the weekend at Fishmongers’ Swallet getting absolutely covered in mud for a day of digging and cave archaeology. Underground teams filled buckets with spoil while surface teams sifted through everything in search of archaeological finds.
The cave didn’t disappoint - with pottery, countless bones, and even a human skull and jaw with teeth uncovered during the dig 🙀
Alongside the archaeology, digging continued into new passage, proving once again that caving is somehow equal parts science expedition and muddy chaos.
A successful trip finished in the only sensible way possible: champagne and a cheeky ikea meatball trip 🤭

From unexpected finds to genuinely bizarre deposits - including dead animals and some very odd Iron Age activity, this talk dives into the story behind the excavation and what it all might mean.

UBBS x UBMC take on Yorkshire 🤝
With caves, climbs, chaos, and an immense amount of faff, of course.
This weekend UBBS & UBMC headed up to Yorkshire for a joint trip at the Northern Pennine Club.
The weekend combined SRT underground, teaching sessions back at the hut, and climbing above ground, offering something for all experience levels.
Aerial sock wrestling made an appearance, alongside sardines and some questionable late-night would-you-rathers.
A weekend full of adventure, learning, and excellent club spirit.😛
