Bird of the Week

It's a Jay! The Eurasian jay is a species in the crow family. It has gorgeous orange-brown plumage with a black stripe on each side of a whitish throat, a bright blue panel on the upper wing and a black tail. Now, as huge fans of blues and rusty oranges together, we have to admit the feathered friend has an admirable colour palette!

In fact - we've used a similar colour scheme across several of our projects - introducing sophisticated, cool blues paired with hot oranges and rusty reds across many a project of our own. We love to be daring with our designs - professional doesn't have to be boring!

Have a wonderful weekend, from the Wylde birds.

We reaaaally love a meeting where we get to explore and understand new product ranges.

Last week we had Kardean Design Flooring pop in to show us their new flooring ranges over some yummy snacks! As we're designing and dreaming up concepts for clients - we love some inspiration on which products we can integrate into our schemes to make our visions come to life.

These gorgeous flooring designs have got our creativity going and we're already thinking about which projects we can use these beautiful options for. Got a product you think would work for our design projects - why not drop us an email and pop by Dairy Studios to showcase what you do?

Last week the Wylde girls attended the Women in Property South West & YTL Developments event at the Brabazon development in Bristol.

A great talk - and what a phenomenal scheme! It's so refreshing to see a development like this being put forward incorporating residential, commercial, green space and infrastructure in such a progressive way. The long term vision for Brabazon is to create a new city district for our hometown of Bristol, bringing together homes, workplaces, transport and community.

As an all-women team at WyldeIA we really love to attend these superb events whenever possible - to support and connect with other women in construction and property - across the industry. Tracey Wylde, our Director, founded Wylde in 1996, driven by a need to work flexibly around her growing family. But soon the growth in work and recommendations by clients meant that bringing on-board like-minded designers was essential.

Today we are a tight-knit, award-winning team lead by Tracey Wylde and Co-Director Amy Stone, the team are incredibly hard-working and professional but also like to have fun.

In the Wylde blog this week; Jade in June

As June settles in and Britain's gardens reach their most vibrant, there is perhaps no colour more fitting for the season than jade green. Fresh yet sophisticated, calming yet full of life, jade sits comfortably between the softness of sage and the richness of emerald, making it one of the most versatile shades in contemporary interior design. It captures the optimism of summer without overwhelming a space and reflects a growing desire for interiors that feel connected to nature, balanced and restorative.

As homeowners and businesses alike seek spaces that promote wellbeing, productivity and comfort, nature-inspired palettes remain at the forefront of interior trends. Jade green, in particular, offers a refined alternative to more obvious botanical shades. It brings depth and character while retaining a sense of tranquillity that works beautifully across both residential and commercial environments.

From a colour theory perspective, jade green occupies a unique position. Green sits at the centre of the visible colour spectrum, which is one reason it is often perceived as naturally harmonious and easy on the eye. Unlike more stimulating colours such as red or orange, green tends to create a sense of equilibrium. It is associated with growth, renewal and stability, qualities that resonate strongly in interior spaces where people live, work and gather. Jade green takes these associations a step further by introducing subtle blue undertones, which contribute additional feelings of calm, clarity and sophistication.

Coffee

Monday morning coffee? Well why not?! After all, it's one of our favourite rituals of the day at Dairy Studios. We start the day by popping the kettle on and making a brew - it's where we get to gather our thoughts, catch up and plan ahead.

We pride ourselves at Wylde for being experts in beautiful, practical and sustainable spaces that support people to work, learn and live better. That starts with us working efficiently and effectively - which usually starts with a pot of coffee!

What's your Monday ritual?

Bird of the Week

We're excited for the weekend! It's a busy time of year for us and as you know, we take work-life balance very seriously! Work-life balance is so important because it prevents chronic stress and burnout, protecting both your mental and physical health. By drawing clear boundaries, you have the energy to recharge, leading to higher productivity, stronger personal relationships, and overall life satisfaction.

Our ‘Wylde Bird Series’ represents the team’s collective personality. The bird in our brand and the birds we feature and share are symbolic of beauty, innovation, nature, and freedom – all qualities we apply to our work and lives. We love sharing ideas and allow clients to access the breadth of talent across our team.

Have a great weekend!

Throwback Thursday: Thatchers

It's been a while since we did a throwback post!

Myrtle Farm, in Somerset, has been home to Thatchers Cider Company for over 100 years. In that time the company has grown and evolved, with Thatchers staff in separate buildings across the site.

Wylde were appointed by Thatchers to design the inside space of the new HQ, perched two floors up in a brand-new distribution centre. This new building created an opportunity to bring all the departments together in one office space.

The brief was simply to accommodate seventy desks for a staff-only environment, with a more flexible space to cater periodically for an eighty strong sales team, meeting rooms, and a large conference room and ante area for one hundred staff.

Colour schemes are one of the most important elements of interior design because they influence how a space looks, feels and functions. The right combination of colours can make a room feel warm and inviting, calm and relaxing, or bright and energising. Colour also affects our perception of space; lighter tones can create a sense of openness and airiness, while deeper shades can add character, intimacy and sophistication. A carefully considered colour palette helps to create a cohesive design, ensuring that furniture, fabrics, flooring and decorative accessories work together harmoniously.

This is why, as interior designers, we spend so much time carefully browsing and comparing samples before making final decisions. Colours can appear very different depending on the quality of light, the orientation of a room and the materials they are applied to. Viewing paint swatches, fabric samples and material finishes in the actual space allows us to assess how colours interact throughout the day and alongside other design elements. Taking the time to evaluate samples helps us achieve the perfect balance of tone, texture and style, resulting in interiors that feel thoughtfully designed, visually appealing and perfectly suited to our clients' needs.

Colour Palette: Juicy June!

For this week's Wylde insight we're bringing you a freshly squeezed blog about fruity, joyous and bold summer colour schemes - think peach, mango, nectarine and watermelon. How to introduced these colours, themes and textures into your homes for a bright, hot and glowing summer even when the british sun isn't shining! Summer interiors do not need to rely on sunshine to feel bright, warm and full of energy. This season’s colour palette is inspired by the shades of summer fruit — peach, mango, nectarine and watermelon — bringing a fresh, playful feel into the home even when the British weather is doing its usual thing.

The soft blush of a peach, the rich golden warmth of mango, the glowing orange-pink of nectarine and the vibrant punch of watermelon all bring an instant sense of joy into a space. Even on those classic British summer days when the skies are grey and the rain taps against the windows, these colours can create interiors that feel sun-drenched, energising and full of life.

Somehow we're into the sixth month of the year - but we're feeling pretty joyous so why not start the week with a couple of the wonderful Wylde girls Amy & Phoebe!

Amy is a Director at Wylde and an absolute core part of the company and everything that we do. As a Director and Qualified Architect (after many years of study!) On a very rare day off for her she likes to lie in the sun and walk her labradors but her hobbies that she somehow continuously fits around work, family and life such as running, working out, dancing, all things crafty!

Our Interior Designer super star Phoebe is such a wonderful part of the team too. With a BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology & Practice, National Design Academy Interior Design Diploma and also stunning artistic practice. She's a mum to a tiny ‘force of nature’ child, so also rarely getting some quality rest time these days but when she can get away the mountains is her favourite getaway! She loves drawing/art, fitness, skiing and walking our rescue dog, Benny (who you can read more about on the Wylde website!)
