🚻 Your accessible toilet might have the correct sign on the door…

…but is it actually accessible?

Is the transfer space clear?

Are emergency cords reaching the floor?

Has equipment been blocked by bins or storage?

Can someone actually manoeuvre inside?

Accessibility needs to work in practice — not just on paper.

For many disabled people and their families, they can determine whether a day out is possible at all.

Having appropriate space and equipment can provide something incredibly important:

Dignity.

Choice.

Support Cameron’s Charity Bike Ride! 💙

On Friday 4 September 2026, Cameron will be taking part in the Warmley Wheelers to Bath charity bike ride, raising money for Graeme Close community days and Warmley Wheelers.

Cameron says:

“Warmley Wheelers helped quite a lot and I want to help them back. I would like people to join the cycle and donate towards the goal – the more the merrier.

I never believed I would be riding a bike, never mind doing a sponsored cycle ride! I didn’t believe in myself to do it and now I am. I am quite pleased and proud of myself!”

Cameron now volunteers at Warmley Wheelers every Friday and describes it as his dream job. 🚴👏

A beautiful accessible building can still provide a poor experience if staff do not understand accessibility.

Likewise, knowledgeable and respectful staff can make a huge difference.
