We offer a great package of affordable rents, extremely flexible terms and high quality management services to licensees in all our properties. This is a great opportunity for small businesses to be part of a wider business community sharing great facilities, giving access to resources, advice and networking events through our hub at Easton Business Centre. We are a not for profit social enterprise which reinvests its income into promoting its social aims of improving the economic wealth and vitality of disadvantaged communities through supporting enterprise. Wherever possible we use local suppliers, many are actually our own licensees and through our events programme we promote networking opportunities with the wider business community. Bristol Spaceworks was officially launched in 2010 from a merger of two not for profit social enterprises operating in Bristol's inner city east side, East Bristol Enterprise and Bristol East Side Traders (BEST). This year our founder, Neil Pirie, was awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to business and young people.

Neil has been at the heart of Spaceworks since 1985. He helped turn an idea into an organisation that has supported thousands of businesses, charities and community organisations across Bristol.

Every tenant who has started out in one of our spaces, and every business that has grown with us, is part of what he set out to build.

Spaceworks was created to make it easier for local people to start and grow their own businesses, and today our seven workspaces support a wide range of small businesses, charities, freelancers and social enterprises across Bristol.

A warm welcome to Sabriin, the newest member of the Spaceworks team!

Sabriin came to us through Empire Fighting Chance (the Bristol charity that supports young people through boxing, mentoring and therapy) on the recommendation of their Careers Manager, Titus.

We're exploring ways to connect our community with Empire's network, whether that's through introductions or careers activity. More to come on that.

💚 New public defibrillator installed at Easton Business Centre 💚

Previously located inside, the defib has now been moved to an external location by the front gates.

The move came about following discussions with Simon from Defibs4Bristol, who highlighted the importance of increasing public access to life-saving equipment. It can now be accessed at any time by members of the public, as well as by customers and visitors to the centre.

Simon has helped install over 60 defibrillators across Bristol, and we are very grateful that he contacted our team and provided the heated cabinet free of charge 🫀

This project would not have been possible without the generosity and support of several people. We would particularly like to thank one of our customers and a trusted supplier, Avon Electrics. Greg and Chris generously donated their time and expertise to install the unit and connect the heated cabinet that protects the defibrillator, so it is operational all year round.

We are committed to creating workplaces that strengthen the communities around them. We hope that no one has to use it, but we’re glad it’s available to the public if there is ever an emergency.

Meet Tim of String Theory Guitars, our resident guitar expert at The Old Co-op 🎸

Tim sells, services and repairs quality used guitars for everyone from first-time players to touring professionals. After years as a secondary school teacher, he took a leap into self-employment and hasn't looked back. This year Tim has also been giving back to the community, offering work experience to local students.
