The Neff dishwasher was flashing the tap warning and not starting cycles. Faulty drain pump found and replaced with one from the van. In and out on one visit.

This LG washing machine was showing TE error code. Replacement heater fitted and it's all back up and running.

I had a very handsome helper today. We love pets and it's great to meet everyone's pets when we're out and about. Kids less so...

This Beko machine wasn't starting cycles. It was diagnosed as a door lock fault, the customer has to close the door in a particular way to make it work and it's finally failed.

Don't wait till it actually fails. If something isn't right or isn't how it used to be let us know sooner rather than later. We can often get appliances fixed before they fully fail preventing down time.

We're getting a lot of calls about fridges and freezers at the moment. Fridges in the UK are designed to operate best at ambient temperatures between 16°-25°. Anything outside this range means the fridge will be working extra hard.

If your fridge is struggling to cool there's a few things you can do. Which? have very kindly written a guide for helping fridges and freezers to keep working in heat wave conditions.

The only thing I'd add is consider turning your freezer up to -14°c it won't work as hard and your food shouldn't spoil at that temperature.

This customer called up to say the door on their Beko washing machine was stuck. They also asked us to clear out the filter as they couldn't open it.

All that was needed was a replacement handle, the ones on these Beko's are made out of the cheapest plastic, it's one of our most common call outs.

Handle replaced, fridge magnet and coins removed from the filter. The machine is back up and running. The initial call out was on Friday, parts delivered Saturday and fitted Monday. We always aim to turn around jobs as quickly as possible.

This heatwave isn't just affecting us and our furry friends. Some of your home appliances will be struggling as well.

If your fridge is struggling it's because it's working extra hard. They require the ambient temperature to be below 30°c to work effectively. If you can, pull it away from the wall to improve airflow. Make sure all the vents are clear and fluff free.

Heat pump dryers utilize the same principles as your fridges. They require an ambient temperature of between 10-30°c. Temperature outside this range means they can't condense effectively. If you need to use your dryer put it into the coolest room in your house or hang the washing outside.

Our current head of HR has been searching the house for somewhere cool. Frozen tuna ice cubes have been formally requested.

This week's cautionary tale of what did we pull out a washing machine it's the hair pin, a repeat offender. These things can do real damage to the machine if they end up in the wash.

This Candy washer dryer had one stuck in the drain pump. They can also cause damage to hoses leading to leaks.

This top of the range Siemens heat pump dryer was constantly flashing the water tray alarm even though it was empty.

Some soggy dog hair and lint sitting between the two metal contacts will do that. This makes the machine think the base is constantly full of water setting the alarm off and preventing it from drying.

This 10 year old Liebherr fridge had a broken arm. Luckily Liebherr does a kit for everything and they even include instructions!

Fitted the new arm bracket and now the fridge closes smoothly without slamming. These fridges are top dollar but very well made.
