A key aspect of successful project delivery is risk management.

Procurement is an important step in any project to ensuring the right goods/services are procured at the right time, for the right price. Handled inefficiency, delays can occur, and budgets can be exceeded. These are just two of the potential overall risks in this stage of a project lifecycle and during times of uncertainty these risks become far more prominent.

Local, national or global factors can significantly affect your project and not all of these are easy to predict in advance. A key part of the procurement stage is planning for any potential risk and preparing to manage them if they arise.

In our guide, ‘How to Manage Projects within an Uncertain Procurement Market’, we identify the key mitigation measures that can be equipped to minimise the impact of procurement risks within the construction sector during times of uncertainty.

All projects are inherently complicated. They all have their risks and issues that need to be dealt with.

For Project Managers, this means they need the technical knowledge to deliver and should have good judgement. A common way to track these changes and have control of all the intricacies of a project is to establish a Project Management Report.

If you find yourself now (or in the future) preparing or even receiving one of these reports, then this blog might of interest to you. We discuss the importance of project management reports and the three vital factors to consider when developing them.

This week is Fire Door Safety Week and we wanted to bring attention to how important it is to ensure your estate is fire safety compliant.

Fire safety is justifiably being re-prioritised by many organisations. New regulations are and have been introduced, and organisations are expected more than ever to make sure it is on their priority list.

Utilising our knowledge, we developed a guide that explains the various legislation and details a 5-step approach to Fire Integrity Projects within Healthcare. If you are interested in learning more about fire proofing your estate, you can download the guide via this link: https://loom.ly/C258vdI

The cost of backlog maintenance has been drastically increasing, making it more difficult to clear. With factors such as time, money and resources slowing down the clearance of backlog maintenance, it only begins to grow into a larger problem.

The trick is to combine estate management costs with those of backlog maintenance in order to create a balanced programme. However, managing something of this scale is a daunting prospect and it’s not always easy to see where to start. There’s where A.I comes in.

In our new guide, ‘Unleashing the Power of A.I for Estate Management in the NHS’, we discuss the ways in which A.I can improve the estate management process within the NHS and how we have developed solutions that can benefit you and your organisation.

Our office improvements have been continuing and alongside that so has our local community donations!

We’ve been updating our Bristol office and removing some old – but still in fantastic condition – furniture and office supplies such as cabinets and tables. We were reluctant to throw away these items, so we arranged with Collecteco for it to be donated.

Collecteco are an incredible organisation that arranges for furniture and equipment to be donated to charities, schools, community groups, NHS trusts and other amazing causes across the UK.

This time, we donated a variety of tables and cabinets to them, therefore avoiding 390kg of CO2e waste and diverting 502kg from landfill!

Donating our furniture is such a simple process but has had a huge impact. We’re actively reducing our environmental waste and at the same time ensuring that local communities and charities are given the support they need. This is truly a wonderful way to address and reduce waste and support fantastic organisations.

What is a digital twin and what role does it play within the construction industry?

The construction industry is rapidly evolving and incorporating more digital solutions to new and recurring challenges. The inclusion of digital technologies has introduced the sector to digital twins: virtual representation of buildings made from real-time data. They are slowly becoming more frequently used, and Project Managers are more likely to produce them.

In this blog, Provelio explains what benefits they can bring to a project and what challenges and considerations should be considered when creating one.
