Over the last twenty years, many industries have become more condensed with a few firms controlling more share of their markets. This is the rise of superstar firms, initiated by increased competition causing larger productivity differences between companies. Why Strategy? Many founders begin their companies focusing on a niche, filling a gap in the market and by adding value. Perfectly valid entry mechanisms but how do you go about maximising the intent and therefore growth of the venture? Trying to be all things to all people stretches resources and can reduce quality of service.
