Bromyard Fire Station

Bromyard Fire Station Welcome to Bromyard Fire Station. Part of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, we are proud to provide on-call response to 999 emergencies.

Bromyard Fire Station is manned by PAID members of the community who are on call and respond from a pager when a 999 call comes in. These men and women do exactly the same job as a full time fire fighter but instead of being based on a station, they live or work in the area and are available at mutually convenient times (not 24/7) to keep our appliances "on the run". We're always looking for new m

embers of the team so do pop down on a Thursday evening for an informal chat if you're interested. You could earn £4,000 - £8,000 extra per year just for being on call (depending upon how many hours cover you can offer us). That's a new car, a mortgage deposit or a holiday. Or just the difference between staying in the area or having to look for work elsewhere. You don't need to be UBER fit and strong, but you will need to pass a physical test and you'll need to have a basic maths and english understanding but as long as you're over 18 - we'd love to hear from you. Visit the website for more information or come along and meet the team on a Thursday at the Fire Station. Please do NOT message this page if you need to report an emergency. Dial 999 and ask for the fire service.

🥳 Happy 21st Birthday to this little weirdo 🥳
Like most youngsters he ended up celebrating his birthday early (yesterday) by having a brush with the emergency services after getting into a rather sticky situation 😬
Thanks to the amazing work of Ewyas Harold Fire Station, Bromyard Fire Station and the Animal Rescue Team he has walked away with just bruising and a few aches. He was back to his normal cheeky self within a few hours 💖Their patience, knowledge and communication skills made a very stressful situation so much easier. We are eternally grateful for their help 🙏
Yet again thank you for the ever calming presence of Kharon Nakielny who had yet again been an amazing help in one of our equine dramas!
🥳 HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREMLIN 🥳

On Sunday afternoon 22/2/26 Crews from Wyre Forest Fire Station , Worcester Fire Station SRT /Boat crew and Bromyard Fire Station's Large Animal Rescue team, were called to rescue a horse called Mitchell that had got into the River Stour after slipping down the embankment he was unable to get himself out.

The owner had already called for a vet from Connaught House.
On arrival of the first crew they found Mitchell in fairly deep fast flowing water but stood on the side of the river. When Carrie the vet arrived we discussed a rescue plan it wasn't possible to walk or swim him to safety so we agreed the safest way was to lift Mitchell to safety from his current position. To do this we needed the help of a local farmer with a tele handler, which the owner was able to arrange. Before we could lift Mitchell out he was going to need to be sedated and the SRT sled was used to get Carrie into position so that she could administer this via IV injection.
We were able to get the strops around Mitchell and as soon as the sedation was administered and taken effect he was quickly lifted out of the water and carried across the field to a safe place where he was assisted to stand, he was covered in some rugs to keep him warm, after about 30 minutes he was able to walk back to his stable.

Where Carrie carried out a full assessment of him, plus she visited again the following morning and she confirmed that he was in good health and back to his normal self.

Thanks to everyone that took ok art in this challenging rescue, we achieved a brilliant result as a team
