***REAL TALK***📣

I’ve always been and will always be a huge believer that no content is better than bad content. Which is exactly what’s got me in trouble in the past, because I’d go months on end without even so much as a squeak on socials 🐭

Which means? Unfortunately as much as it sucks, people forget about you 😮‍💨

Now I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be forgettable. ESPECIALLY when I know I’ve got something really quite special to offer and that I want people to know about 📣💥

But if you’re finding yourself out of time, inclination and creativity then what’s to say you don’t end up putting rubbish, useless, spammy content out there which is only going to disengage your audience and damage your brand and rep ❌

I think I’d rather be forgotten about to be honest 😬⚰️☠️

HOWEVER… here’s the fun part 😏

What if you didn’t have to choose between no content or bad content? (Erm hello! Take my money 😂💸💸)

And that my fellow business people is where NEW GEN MEDIA] come in 👏🏼🏆

What if you could be showing up consistently, with great content, to the RIGHT people, BUILDING your brands rep and awareness and NOT falling behind… without all that effort and stress and ‘ughhhh’ feeling attached on your part?

I’d say yes please thank you very much sign me up NOW. We don’t have a minute to loose 🙏🏻🪄⏱️

💌 Drop me a message and we can have a lovely time talking about how NEW GEN MEDIA] could make a massive difference to your social story and get you to where you want to be asap 🚀 no more messing about guys! ✋🏼😉

I had the best day celebrating my 30th birthday with my nearest and dearest 🎉🫶🏻

I’ve been waiting for this like a big looming milestone hanging over me, and I’ll be honest I had put a lot of pressure on myself to ‘have all my s**t together by my thirtieth’ 🤦🏻‍♀️ Which is quite frankly ridiculous (who actually has all their s**t together at any age?!) 👀😂

All we can ever do is take one step at a time in the direction of creating the life we want, and at the same time not forgetting to actually LIVE and enjoy the moments on the way to getting there 🎢

But that being said we have to know WHAT we want in order to achieve it, otherwise we can just end up drifting 🦦

It is far too easy to settle and not ask yourself the bigger questions when it comes to having a vision for the kind of life you want to live and instead to get wrapped up in the mundane, going round and round on that hamster wheel we love to get caught up in 🐹🎡

I do however believe the closer I’ve got to my thirties, and now that I’ve officially crossed that threshold (😬) this vision is becoming clearer and clearer and I have a much more powerful understanding of who I am and what I want (and what I don’t want!) 👏🏼

I’ve made a few promises to myself for my thirties - one of them is that people pleasing is something I’m absolutely leaving behind in my twenties full stop and for good ❌ this is a big one for me, (kinda scary) but yet it feels totally liberating at the same time and has been a long time coming.

I can’t wait to lean further into the energy my thirties will bring and to see where it takes me 💫🫶🏻

I’d love to hear about something you learnt in your thirties or left behind in your twenties?! 🤩👇🏼⬇️🥰

Quick pitstop coffee on the way to hospital this morning for Ted’s routine Type 1 appointment with his consultant and his levels are the best they’ve ever been in the almost ten years since his diagnosis 🥹🙏🏻💙

So this calls for a Ted appreciation post. I know it’s international women’s day today so this is slightly unconventional but Ted has quite literally shaped the entirety of my adult life. It is because of him that I am who I am and the woman I am today and I couldn’t be any more grateful.

Becoming a mum at 18 was genuinely the best thing that has ever happened to me and I wouldn’t have chosen to spend every minute of my adult life any other way. I just knew from the moment I knew he was on his way that this was the path I was meant to be on, even when so many people thought by becoming a ‘teenage mum’ I was going to waste my potential. (The stigma of this sucks but I’ll save that for another day.) It’s actually because of him and his brother and sister that I always strive to do more, be more, make more of a difference and to never settle, ever.

He is the reason I set up my first business over ten years ago now, so that I could be with him and never have to sacrifice anything I didn’t want to in the pursuit of success and reaching my goals, and for me being a mum makes those goals even bigger.

I owe him everything, and with each passing day that he grows he becomes even more beautiful. There’s always been something very special about Ted (everyone who has met him knows it) and I will never take for granted how lucky I am to have had the best anchor, bestie and reason to be the very best I can be by my side every day whilst navigating everything adulthood brings.

So here’s to Ted, for making me so proud, for being my inspiration and for being my shining light that just continues to get brighter and brighter with each passing moment ✨✨

Me and his dad took him for a Nando’s to celebrate this amazing milestone in his type 1 journey and to also give ourselves a little pat on the back (in the form of chicken) for smashing the s**t out of co parenting and raising such an icon 🚀 we love you baby! You are utter perfection 💫

*Announcement*

I must’ve tried to write this post a hundred times but here goes…

After a lot of thinking and feeling into what’s right for me, I’ve decided to let The Haven go. The lease is due to be renewed in March and as much as it breaks my heart, I truly believe sometimes it’s braver and much more powerful to know when to walk away.

Juggling life (I was dealt a pretty s**tty hand in 2022) plus trying to grow a business and also funding a premises has been a lot. As someone who really feels the impact of not following her intuition, I knew 2023 was for me to get out of my own way and make the big decisions required in order to rebuild my life in a way that feels amazing again, no matter how scary that feels.

People have told me that what I’ve created with The Haven was never a room, it was always just me. I wanted to create a safe space for people to show up and leave with a renewed sense of energy, clarity and purpose but in reality it’s me who has been their safe space. Not the bricks and mortar, and I am so grateful for being reminded of that recently.

Having been in business for a decade now, I’m so proud of all I’ve done and having my own premises for 2 years has been a dream come true and I’m so grateful for the experience. I get to head into my thirties in March with a lot more lessons learned and even more tools in my toolbox ready to continue to make a difference in the best way I know how - by being me. Someone living life, making mistakes, doing her best, acting with the best intentions and collecting experiences along the way to help others.

You DON’T have to continue down a path if it’s no longer serving you or simply doesn’t feel right anymore. It’s not giving up or failing, it’s being brave, knowing you deserve more and freeing yourself. I’m such a firm believer of that and it’s really helped me to be at peace with this decision. So although this is sad, I’m so excited for what this makes room for.

Finally, thank you all for being a part of The Haven’s story, I really hope it’s made a little difference to you somehow. May your 2023 be about you choosing YOU and opening your mind and eyes to all the possibilities that await you ✨🫶🏻

Well it’s the havens official first birthday 🎉🍾🙏🏻🥹✨

The doors have been open for a whole year and I am so, so proud. It’s not been easy by any means and to be honest I’m just really grateful to have made it to the year milestone 😂 (Especially in this climate when things are so tough!)

I don’t think enough businesses talk about the survival aspect and what an achievement it actually is. It’s all about the big wins, only talking about it when things are great and all going swimmingly. (Or just not talking about it at all!) When the reality is business is full of ups and downs. It’s normal, and I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you it’s been hard getting clients and introducing what is deemed a ‘luxury expense’, something pretty unknown, and helping people to understand just how valuable mentorship actually is and the profound difference it can make to lives and businesses 🫶🏻

However, I’ve trusted in the process and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be doing it than trying to make my mark in the lovely town of Buckingham. I’ve trusted that the right clients would find me, believe in what I have to offer and what I can do for them and they absolutely have 💫 I’ve had an incredible year working alongside some seriously amazing people and businesses and I’m so pleased I didn’t give up, even when it felt really impossible that I’d ever break through. Because the thing is if I had I’d never have been able to make the impact and difference I have this year to my clients.

So I guess the point of this post is not only a celebration and ‘yay it’s the haven’s birthday’ but also a reminder to you that if it’s right and if you believe in something enough, don’t give up on yourself. (I’m so pleased I didn’t!)

And finally thank you so much to everyone who has been involved in mine and the haven’s story so far, I am beyond grateful to you all and I am so excited to see what the future holds and for what’s next 🫶🏻🎉✨ thank you thank you thank you ❤️❤️❤️

So today marks one whole year since I signed the lease to .haven_, picked up the keys and took the biggest risk/leap of faith of my entire life. I can remember this day as if it were yesterday and the feeling I had will remain with me forever.

I went at this with no plan, no true idea of how I was going to use the haven and what I’d create. All I knew is it would be a space where I’d be able to make a difference and where I’d have the opportunity to support people with their lives, businesses and dreams. And therefore living my own 🙏🏻💫

I couldn’t have foreseen that it would take almost 9 months from this day on 1st March 2021 to officially being able to open The Haven’s doors on 21/11/21 and sometimes I did wonder if I’d ever make it, but my unwavering belief and trust in the process, plus backing myself 100% and just knowing I’d make it work somehow is what got me through without a nervous breakdown 😵‍💫🤣 so many challenges and obstacles were thrown at me and I’ve had to sacrifice and risk so much in order to get here but the last three months since I launched has made every single moment worth it ✨🥰

I have met some of the most incredible people, I’m working with the most amazing clients, this morning I sold out and reached full capacity on the next female founders night a whole month in advance within 12 hours of releasing the date 🥺😭🙏🏻 tomorrow I welcome another new beautiful client in for a whole 1:1 vip haven day with me 🤩🔥💥 and I am just so beyond grateful to everyone so far that has believed in me and got involved in some way shape or form at The Haven 🕊💫

So, one year since I made the biggest and scariest decision to date and I am so proud of myself for continuing to take the steps forwards even when the odds were stacked against me to create this safe, beautiful space for growth, learning, evolution, connection and inspiration. So much can happen in a year, and I’m blown away by just the first three months so I can’t wait to see what we can do together between now and next March ✨

So I’ll finish on this - BACK YOURSELF 🔥🔥 you’ll never know what incredible things can happen for you if you don’t sometimes just take the leap 🕊🦋💫

Female founders eve Jan 2022 🥂🍿🍫🧀🫒🕊👯‍♀️👑💫🌙💥🔥❤️

Better and more than I ever could have imagined the first official Haven Female Founders night to be 🙏🏻🔥

THE most gorgeous, supportive, fun, honest, brave, powerful and inspiring collective of women. And I was so honoured to host them and bring us together in a space meant for exactly what took place on Thursday evening ❤️‍🔥

All at different stages of their business journeys, all women, all human, navigating the same challenges and feels that go hand in hand with trying to do ‘all the things’, juggle all the balls, look after themselves somewhere amongst it and also create and grow businesses they’re passionate about and that are making a difference. It’s a lot.

We talked everything from social media presence, loosing our mojo, leadership and mum guilt to bigging ourselves up and showing up totally unapologetically within our brands. We shared stories, anecdotes, nuggets of wisdom,
we got passionate and we laughed (loads 🤣) we drank Prosecco, we ate, we said bulls**t and f**k a lot (this will never be a ‘typical’ networking meeting, EVER 😉 but most importantly we formed connections. Real, true, connection.

Having your own business can sometimes feel incredibly lonely. We spend so much time spinning the plates and in ‘survival’ mode that we often forget the need for fun, the pleasure that’s available within business, the joy of friendships from those who get it. That’s why I think it’s so important to come together when the world has moved online. To stop the loneliness, to prioritise not only your business but also your well-being. Because truly the energy and feeling of being in this room on Thursday is still keeping me going and totally full up with the high vibes (which let me you makes the most tremendous difference to EVERYTHING.)

So thank you for showing up not just for your businesses but for yourselves and each other. You’d have made more of a difference to each of us than you realise ❤️

(And I for one CANNOT WAIT for February’s one already) 🤩🔥🕊🥂
