Are you a secret writer? Do you feel like an impostor because you haven't been published or won a writing award yet?

I'm a professional coach but my first love was storytelling in the shape of theatre, books, and films. This year I decided to take writing more seriously. I changed my approach and popped out of my comfort zone to challenge myself with my writing.

In March I started writing a short play in a genre I enjoyed but hadn't written before. I shared my unfinished work. Within a few weeks, I had finished that short play and it has since been accepted by two publishers. It was published earlier this month.

How is it relevant that I'm a coach? Learning coaching tools and techniques enabled me to change to my mindset and push past my own glass ceiling to produce work that I have confidence in.

I love to coach creative people because I love the possibilities that they see. The options are limitless, although it's not always easy to make those possibilities a reality. This is where coaching can make a difference! If you are frustrated by your own glass ceiling and you know that now is the time to break through it... this message is for you! 121 coaching doesn't tell you what to write and how to write. You do you. Coaching is your tool for making exciting things happen. You can increase your productivity, stretch your comfort zone, have confidence in your decisions, and smash your goals.

A week ago I hosted some online coaching workshops for a group of Foot Health Professionals. The sessions focused on embracing a coaching mindset to manage change and increase confidence in decision-making and direction.

What is coaching? We hear the word coaching relating to sports and, increasingly, in the business/personal development arena.
Timothy Gallwey's book, The Inner Game of Tennis, suggested that the biggest obstacles to success and achieving potential were internal, not external.
Coaching is bespoke to the individual because it focuses on the goals of one specific person, at this specific time and using their wealth of skills, knowledge and experience. Coaching is about you and getting past those internal obstacles.

I'm just saying recognising you are lost, even just a teeny bit, is a really important part of not staying lost.
