🎉 WORK EXPERIENCE NEWS — WELL DONE, LUKE! 🎉

We were delighted to welcome 17-year-old Luke to Specialist SRT for two weeks of work experience.

Luke has a learning disability, autism and ADHD. With clear structure, meaningful tasks and the right support around him, he thrives—and over the past two weeks, he has shown us exactly what he can achieve.

During our move from Burnham-on-Sea to our new Bridgwater office, Luke helped with packing and loading vehicles, clearing rubbish, unpacking boxes and building furniture. He followed instructions, worked hard and was always keen to keep busy and help with the next task.

We were incredibly proud to send a letter to his school recognising his effort, outstanding performance and potential within a working environment.

Luke has now also been invited back to help in the office on Saturday mornings—something he is extremely excited about!

This is what genuine inclusion looks like: recognising someone’s abilities, giving them a meaningful opportunity and providing the support they need to succeed.

Well done, Luke. You have been a pleasure to have with us, and we are incredibly proud of you! 💙💛

Good training is about much more than passing an exam.

🛡️ SEPTEMBER PREPAREDNESS MONTH — WEEK 1: KNOW THE RISKS

The idea for this campaign came from Ready.gov, the United States Government’s emergency preparedness website and its National Preparedness Month campaign.

When we discovered the campaign, it made us think about how important these conversations are here in the UK too. Preparedness is not about causing fear or expecting the worst—it is about understanding possible risks, taking sensible precautions and being ready to respond calmly when something unexpected happens.

At Specialist SRT, preparation is a vital part of the work we do across holiday parks, events, nightclubs and other businesses. Good security begins long before an incident occurs.

This September, we will be sharing a different preparedness topic each week.

🌟 Five fantastic five-star reviews in one week! 🌟

During the week commencing 10 August, guests at Ladram Bay Holiday Park repeatedly recognised the brilliant work of our security officers, Sam and Dave.
Sam received special praise for being wonderful with children and for looking after families in the Waves Club—she may soon have her own little fan club! 😄
Dave was described as friendly, approachable and professional. Guests noticed how he kept a watchful eye on everything and helped everyone feel safe without being overbearing.

Together, Sam and Dave were praised for making guests feel safe, supported and “looked after like family.” Some guests were so impressed that they are already looking forward to seeing them again next year!

👀 Beyond the Badge Talks — Talk 4
Would you spot the change?

A busy venue is constantly changing.

People move.
Crowds shift.
Someone leaves a bag behind.
A person’s behaviour changes.
An exit becomes blocked.
Something suddenly feels different.

Most people are there to enjoy themselves — and that is exactly how it should be.
