Burton ReRun

Burton ReRun A new kind of recycling project, turning local waste into local community investment and services.

We want to offer reclaimed, upcycled and remanufactured products at a discount for people involved and put all of our profits back into the local community.

It was my pleasure to attend the Staffordshire Business and Envirnment Network AGM yesterday where there was a very interesting presentation by the national grid and I saw not one, but three fantastic trophies handed out. Made from our recycled single use plastic of course!

Take a look πŸ‘€

A big thank you to everyone who attended our AGM today, thanks to key speakers Sharon McGuffie & Irena Horobet from National Grid, our Organisers Group…

MONUMITE has moved! The epic Monument to one of Burtons most loved (and hated!) export is now located on Evershed Way, however you feel about Marmite I do hope you will all love the plaque I made using our community collected single use plastics!

Huge thanks to everyone involved in the project and special thanks for choosing a more sustainable way of doing things that keeps plastics out of landfill.

I pressed this sheet, and it kept making me think of an underwater doomscape of plastic rubbish rotting away, then I remembered we are keeping single use plastics out of the oceans one lid at a time.

Maybe this sheet doesn't get cut up and stays art?

One of the questions I get asked a lot is, "How did you learn to do that?"

Oh, its simple, I made mistakes, and plenty of them too! I made mistakes left right and centre early on and learned something from every single one.

I still make the odd one and the picture above is evidence enough. I'll point out the head slapping-ly obvious mistake for the initiated mold maker, I really ought to have flipped the text!

What you're looking at are the molds for jewellery holders to replace the versions we buy in and laser (they come with plastic bags I really don't want)

The final version will very likely have some seeds in so they can be planted not binned!

What a marvellous marbled masterpiece! you'll be seeing this sheet in its final form soon.

A handful of the bug hotels made at 2024, including cardboard, sourced from festival waste and garden waste sourced from Burton upon Trent back gardens and a few bits of cane purchased to give the solitary bees their ideal accommodation.
