The things holding you back aren't problems... they're stories you've outgrown.

23/11/2025

50 years.
That’s it.

That’s how long women have officially been allowed to open a bank account without a man signing off like some sort of financial headteacher.

One lifetime.
My mother’sgeneration.
Painfully recent.

When you look at the generations before us, it suddenly makes sense why so many women still feel shaky with money, or apologetic about wanting more, or terrified of being “too much.” We’ve inherited centuries of “don’t worry your pretty little head about it.”

Financial independence isn’t just about numbers on a screen.
It’s about ownership of your actual life.

Your choices.
Your safety.
Your dreams.
Your permission to leave.
Your permission to start again.
Your permission to choose you without guilt.

Today I’m thinking about all the women who never had that choice… and all the women right now who are rewriting the whole script because they finally can.

If you never heard this growing up, hear it now:

👏 You’re allowed to build a life that doesn’t require anyone else’s sign-off.
👏 You’re allowed to want more than survival.
👏 You’re allowed to take up space, earn money, and build something that’s yours.

Here’s to 50 years of women stepping out of limitation and into their own power.

…and here’s to the next 50 being louder, braver, and unapologetic. 🤍

Modern Women Are Exhausted

But No One Wants to Talk About Why.

We told women they could have it all.

Then we quietly made sure they’d have to do it all to keep it.

Now she’s the breadwinner.

The mother.

The emotional anchor.

The one healing her childhood trauma while holding everyone else’s together.

She’s running a business, running a home, running on fumes.

And still apologising for not having her sh*t together.

She’s told she’s “so strong.”

But strength stopped feeling like a compliment a long time ago.

Because when women became capable, the world just raised its expectations and called it empowerment.

We don’t need more motivational quotes.

We need less pretending this is sustainable.

So when women set goals to earn enough for their partners to quit jobs they hate, that’s not ego.

That’s exhaustion speaking.

That’s a woman saying, “If I’m already carrying the weight, I may as well build a life that feels lighter.”

It’s not anti-men.
It’s anti-‘survival mode’.

❓💬 Are women actually freeing themselves, or just building fancier cages?

5 Things Holding You Back in Business

(Part 2: The Deeper Blocks)

Yesterday we talked about the surface-level things holding you back, the ones you can see.

But underneath those are the real ones.

The quiet beliefs, old wounds, and hidden fears that shape everything you do (and don’t do).

These are the ones that don’t show up on your to-do list… but they run the show until you do the inner work.

If this hits home, it’s time to stop fixing symptoms and start healing the roots. 🌱

5 Things Holding You Back in Business

(Part 1: The Surface Blocks)

You know those moments where you know what to do… but something invisible keeps you stuck?

It’s rarely a strategy problem, it’s usually a mindset block in disguise.

These are the surface-level ones, the ones you can see.
But the real transformation happens when you dig into the deeper ones 👀

✨ Part 2 drops tomorrow.... the deeper level blocks

If you’re ready to start shifting these blocks with other women who get it, join my free Skool community for Women in Business (link in bio).

If you’ve always been the strong one, this is for you.

If you’ve always been the strong one, the calm one, the one who copes, you probably learned early on that love and approval came from holding it together.

That strength came with a cost.

You learned to hide your needs. You became uncomfortable being comforted. You wore resilience like armour.

The thing is, strength without softness isn’t strength. It’s survival.

True strength is letting yourself rest, receive, be held, be helped.
It’s knowing you don’t have to earn your worth by coping alone.

So if you’re starting to crave softness, to let someone else hold space for you, that’s not weakness. That’s healing.

Have you ever caught yourself saying something your mum used to say and thought… oh, that’s where it came from?

Sometimes I catch myself saying things my mum used to say, not because I believe them, but because they live in me. The guilt. The self-doubt. The quiet apologising for being an inconvenience.

It’s not her fault. She didn’t invent it either, in fact, she inherited it too.

That’s the thing about generational patterns… we pass down what we don’t heal.

So when you choose to do the inner work, to question your automatic thoughts, to set boundaries, to stop apologising for being you, you’re not just healing yourself. You’re rewriting the story for everyone who comes after you.

✨ Be the one who breaks the pattern, not repeats it.

What’s one belief you’ve inherited that you’re ready to let go of?

I used to think I had a marketing problem.

Turns out, I had a confidence problem.

I would stare at my screen thinking, why isn’t this working?
I’d tweak captions, change colours, plan strategies, but deep down, I was scared to really be seen.

Now, I see in so many women too,...it’s not that you don’t know what to do, it’s that you don’t fully believe in YOU yet.

This week in the Skool community, we’re talking about what happens when confidence finally clicks, because that’s when everything starts to move.

You can have the best strategy in the world… but if you don’t believe in yourself, it’ll show up everywhere.

In your pricing.
In your marketing.
In your boundaries.
In the way you speak about what you do.

Lack of confidence doesn’t just stay in your head, it leaks into your business.

The inner work is the business work.
Because when you fix what’s going on inside, everything outside starts to flow.

🎥 Watch this... it might be the reminder you need today.

I see a lot of ‘coaches’ and ‘mentors’ selling the dream’ 🙄.

The promise of £10k+ months, for little effort, no outlay (other than their fee of course) and no stress.

It sounds great, doesn’t it?

Take my money 💸

But what happens is that when we don’t reach that promised outcome, we don’t question the programme… we question ourselves. We start to believe we’ve failed. That we’re not cut out for business. That we’re the problem.

I want to be really clear… you are NOT the problem.

Building a business is bloody hard work. It’s fulfilling, liberating, exciting, but it’s not “easy.”

It requires you to do things that feel uncomfortable: selling, being visible, leading. It requires you to keep showing up even when you wobble.

I will NEVER promise my clients it’ll be easy.

Simple? Yes!

But not easy or quick.
