This is funny. I found the wasps before I found the nest, but in the meantime got stung. They are a bit bigger and blacker than common wasps and have yellow faces. This bit of hedge is remaining uncut for now...

Human-powered topiary - fuelled by army ration energy drinks and delivered to the rhythm of 'walking on sunshine' by rockers revenge (well, it was a hot day!). Between the houses, you might be able to make out the top of another hedge. It's nice and flat.

A nice way to round off the week. This dead Apple tree was turned into firewood for the owner. The house is currently on the market, and is full of Victorian character, so who knows who will be snuggling up in front of the log burner this winter?

Enjoying the serenity of mowing with a scythe in Mayford

If you look closely enough at the stem of this Japanese Maple you can see the grafting marks, made over 45 years ago. Two different species sharing the same roots. My honour to help keep it looking it's best.
