TEXTING Advice:
The way you text can ruin your relationships; hence you should think before hitting the send key. While you can make many texting mistakes, one common texting habit that stands out is what I like to call “bubble texting.”
What Is “Bubble Texting.”?
“Bubble Texting” is a term coined from the word "bubble," referring to how your texts or chats appear on your phone — they come in bubbles. You “bubble text” if you have created two or more chat bubbles laying on each other.
How Do You Know If You Are “Bubble (Double) Texting"?
A bubble texting conversation often looks like this…
You: Hi! 7:45 am
Them: Hello! 7:46 am
You: How was your night? 7:46 am
Them: Good. 7:50 am
If I were you, I would have stopped here because they didn’t even say thank you or ask me how I was doing.
You: Good to know. I am just checking on you. I had a great time last night. 7:51 am
You: Guess what? I just got some time off work next week. Will you like to go to the movies? Let me know. 2:34 pm
You: Are you ok? I haven’t heard from you. 9:30 pm
You get the idea now. Your messages go unanswered, and you probably didn’t get the hint. It's easy to double text when you just met someone you find attractive. However, this habit can ruin any chances of getting what you want — a fulfilling, mutually exclusive relationship. Why is that?
Double Texts Makes You Look Needy
I can already hear your protest "Nope; it doesn't. It’s simply showing genuine concern.” You are right — if your relationship is exclusive or you want to be sure they weren’t hit by a car. However, if you haven’t gone on a second date and your messages are left on read, chances are they are not that interested, and double texting them screams “needy" or "crazy." The other person may think you are lonely and clingy. They may imagine that your life is boring, or perhaps you are jobless, friendless, and not worth their attention.
They may begin to lose interest in pursuing any romantic interest or going on dates with you. You may get anxious and send them multiple messages. Instead of responding to your text messages, they'd rather block you. Remember this is not a need-to-know scenario as it is where you need to follow up on a client. In business double texting is totally fine. But in a new relationship, waiting for a response will do you more good than double texting. So the next time you are tempted to send multiple texts or double text your new love interest, please have a rethink.
How to Not Send a Double Text?
Double texting may have eaten into your character more than you thought, but you can stop it. If you text your date and they didn't respond, don’t send another text. Sending multiple texts with the same content does not increase the chances of getting a response. There may be many reasons why they haven’t responded. Perhaps they are not that into you, or they are genuinely busy.
