What's the cost of being brilliant at what you do... but not enough people knowing about it?

Many business owners don't have a skills problem.

They have a visibility problem.

And visibility grows through relationships.

That's exactly why Hot Stories exists.

Hot Stories is a business networking event for Cambridgeshire businesses that want to meet new people, build genuine connections, find collaboration opportunities, and grow their visibility in a supportive environment.

A few useful things to know:

Everyone is welcome

You do not have to share your story

You do not have to stand up and speak

You can simply come along, listen, learn, and meet people

Bring your banners
Bring your leaflets
Bring your business cards
Most importantly, bring your smile

For those who would like to speak, you'll have the opportunity to share your story, your business journey, what you do, and why you do it.

Because people rarely remember a logo.

They remember people.
They remember stories.
They remember conversations.

Every Hot Stories attendee also has the opportunity to:

Be professionally filmed by Jamie Ellam - Jamie Ellam Visuals

Be professionally photographed by Chris Hornby Chris Hornby Photography

Have their videos produced and shared by the Gemini Web Media team

Increase their visibility beyond the room

Build trust and credibility through authentic storytelling

A special thank you to Neil Hamilton-Meikle from Cooper Barnes Ltd Automotive for his ongoing support of Hot Stories and for helping make each event possible.

Neil Hamilton-Meikle plays an important role behind the scenes, helping to organise the events, welcoming attendees, making introductions, and ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included from the moment they arrive. His support helps create the friendly, supportive atmosphere that Hot Stories is known for.

Whether you're a start-up, an established business, a charity, a freelancer, or simply someone who enjoys meeting good people and supporting local businesses, you'll be warmly welcomed.

The room is full of business owners who genuinely want to see others succeed.

No hard selling.

No pressure.

Just people, stories, conversations, opportunities, and community.

“Logos don’t speak. Your story does.”

At our 13th May Hot Stories Business Networking event in Cambridge, Renata Rimkutė from KENTAURA and Gemini Web Media shared why authentic stories build trust far faster than polished branding alone.

Hot Stories was created to give people the opportunity to step forward and share:
• who they are
• why they do what they do
• their journey
• their mission
• and the human story behind the business

Because people don’t build trust with logos.

They build trust with people.

With honesty.
With authenticity.
With real experiences and conversations.

That’s what makes Hot Stories different.

It’s not about hard sales.

It’s about people sharing:
• meaningful stories
• genuine experiences
• business journeys
• and building long-term trust and visibility

At Hot Stories, attendees have the opportunity to:
• Build authority and credibility
• Share their story professionally on video
• Increase visibility beyond the event itself
• Create meaningful business relationships

A big thank you to Optrys Ltd for supporting this Hot Stories event.

Do insurance companies always work in the best interests of the driver?

At our 13th May Hot Stories Business Networking event in Cambridge, Neil Hamilton-Meikle from Cooper Barnes Ltd Automotive delivered a direct and thought-provoking talk about accident repairs, insurance policies, and the hidden costs many motorists only discover after making a claim.

Neil explained the important difference between manufacturer-approved and insurance-approved repairers - and why that distinction can impact repair quality, warranties, genuine parts, and long-term vehicle safety.

He also highlighted how additional excess charges and policy conditions can leave drivers paying significantly more than expected after an accident.

That’s what makes Hot Stories different.

It’s not about polished sales pitches.

It’s about people sharing:
• real industry insight
• genuine experience
• practical advice
• and honest conversations that help others

At Hot Stories, attendees have the opportunity to:
• Build visibility and credibility
• Share their story professionally on video
• Create meaningful business relationships
• Continue building authority long after the event finishes

A big thank you to Optrys Ltd for supporting this Hot Stories event.

Most networking events give you a room, a name badge, and a lukewarm coffee.

You leave with a stack of business cards you'll never follow up on.

We built Hot Stories differently.

Since 2022, we've been running events in Cambridge where the real currency isn't the handshake. It's the story behind the business.

Here's what attendees actually leave with:

1. A real connection

Not a contact. Someone who knows your story, your why, and what you're building.

2. A documented asset

Every attendee gets their business story professionally filmed. Your story on video, ready to use.

3. Follow-up that means something

We don't just close the door when the event ends. The community continues.

4. Genuine value exchange

People share what's actually working, what isn't, and what they need. No pitching. No performance.

Your story is your strongest business asset.

Most people never tell it properly. Hot Stories gives you the room, the audience, and the format to change that.

If you're ready to network with purpose, come to the next event.

Most networking events end when you leave the room.

Hot Stories is different.

Every second Wednesday in Cambridge, we bring professionals together for something more than small talk and business cards.

You can come just to connect. Meet people, have real conversations, build relationships at your own pace. No pressure, no script.

Or you can share your story on camera.

That's where it gets interesting. Your story gets professionally documented and shared with a wider audience long after the event. The room holds maybe 20-30 people. Your story can reach hundreds more.

Two ways to show up:

• Come to network, meet great people, leave inspired
• Share your story and let it work for you beyond the room

Whether you're brand new to networking or you've been doing it for years, Hot Stories gives you something most events don't: a reason to come back and a story worth telling.

A big thank you to Jamie Ellam from Jamie Ellam Visuals for capturing every story on camera.

Next event: 10th June - Wednesday 10am to 12pm

Most people network to collect contacts.

The ones who grow do something different.

They share their story.

Not the polished version. The real one. The one with the wrong turns, the hard years, the moments they nearly quit.
That's what Hot Stories is built on.

I started this event in Cambridge in 2022 because I was tired of networking that felt like a business card swap with small talk on top.
I wanted something real.

And what I've watched happen since then is hard to explain until you've been in the room.

Someone stands up. Shares something honest. And suddenly the whole room shifts.

Connections form that wouldn't have formed over a coffee and a pitch.
Opportunities show up that no algorithm could have matched.
Trust builds in an hour that would take months any other way.

You don't have to share on your first visit. Come and listen. See what it feels like when people stop performing and start talking.

I moved to the UK in 2004 as a single mother with nothing but a decision to rebuild.

That story opened more doors for me than any CV ever did.

Your story has weight. Most people just haven't given it a room yet.
