Communication@Sea has hit the Marine Society and Coracle stores as the latest addition to the Learn@Sea education suite.

Whether for routine or emergency purposes, the ability to communicate effectively with coast stations and other vessels is vitally important for the safe operation of vessels of all sizes and whether they are on the high seas or in inland waters.

This course gives users the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of maritime communication and function effectively and efficiently as part of a team on board a vessel.

We are looking for developers to join the team at Coracle.

Experience
You will have at least three years’ experience in modern HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Knowledge of PWAs, IndexedDB, REST, jQuery and Bootstrap would be advantageous.
You are a motivated self-starter, keen to learn new techniques and looking to develop your skills
You recognise the importance of the work we're doing and have a desire to develop solutions for disadvantaged people
We will offer a range of tools to support you in the role, including training and support.

Location: You would be based at Coracle’s offices in Newmarket, Suffolk with the option of some home working
Salary: flexible, depending on experience

Yesterday's report into prison education by the Education Select Committee is a massive opportunity for the government to give our prison community greater access to digital learning, improve their digital literacy, and increase their opportunity for rehabilitation.

Coracle Online work in this space and have seen first hand the impact it can have. That's why we believe digital literacy is a right for every prisoner. We're calling on the government to take notice of the innovative technology and education services that HMPPS has been piloting with us in prisons. The solution is there and now it just needs to be implemented and scaled. Quicker action is needed.
