Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham 💎

We are delighted to have helped achieve planning permission for the reuse of a Grade II listed asset, and sensitive extension to the rear for new living accommodation and affordable commercial units to the frontage.

A scheme directed and led by the team at BPN Architects, it brought together a project team that understood the project brief to enable local planning authority support.

Holland Lloyd provided planning support and the Planning Statement.

Leaflets.

While some will ask Royal Mail to deliver consultation leaflets, at Holland Lloyd we hand deliver all leaflets for community consultations.

Why? Well, have you ever received a pack of leaflets with your post? Did you open the pack to look through them? No, we don't either. That's why we make sure your leaflet is on the doorstep for the owner or with the local business owner, increasing the likelihood of eyes on the consultation material.

While the post service may see your leaflet as a headache that can wait another day (or more), we will always get the leaflet out on time.

Hotel extension: APPROVED 🎉

We are delighted to have achieved planning consent in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to extend an existing hotel.

The hotel will improve the visitor experience with a new reception arrangement and ground floor configuration.

Holland Lloyd led the team from a planning perspective, working closely with Aspinall Creative.

We are delighted to share the submission visuals from Birmingham-based, bespoke gun-maker Westley Richards.

A specialist team makes only 20-30 guns a year, all based in the Gun Quarter, Birmingham. The attention to detail is exceptional, and we are delighted to have helped develop the proposal to expand their home and provide an improved working environment for the local workforce.

Westley Richards is proud to make leather goods in England, and this proposal will put the leather team in a prime ground-floor location where visitors can appreciate the work and effort that goes into every detail.

Holland Lloyd helped a Lichfield District homeowner achieve planning permission to extend their family home beyond policy allowances, but below permitted development limits.

We developed a strategy that worked with the local planning authority to ensure the homeowner achieved their dream home.

In late 2025, we helped a Staffordshire homeowner extend their home to the rear of the property with two new gable additions. The central gable created double-height entertaining space, while the second gable added bedroom space.

The extension is currently underway, and we cannot wait to see it finished.

Overtime, we have helped the homeowner deliver new stables, a riding arena, and improved outbuildings, and was trusted with an extension to their commercial building.

Two projects on the go: an extension to a hotel (positive recommendation for approval atm) and an extension to a residential block to double the number of apartments. Two authorities, two positive team efforts to develop appropriate schemes for the local areas.

Planning in London involves multiple development plans (the authority and the London Plan), increased application questions, and wider requirements than other authorities.
