Printmonster at Cannock Chase Speed Networking 📝

We’ll be getting out of the workshop and meeting more local businesses on 17th September at the Cannock Chase Speed Networking Lunch with Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce.

The event brings businesses together for a series of quick introductions, followed by a more relaxed networking lunch where there’s time to continue the conversations.

For us, events like this are a good opportunity to meet businesses from Cannock Chase and the surrounding area, find out more about what they do and build new local connections.

We’ll also be bringing along some free Printmonster merchandise, so if you’re attending, make sure you come and say hello.

We’re looking forward to seeing a few familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too 😈

Printmonster at Padel & Connect 🏓

We’re pleased to have joined the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and we’re getting involved straight away.

On the 16th September, Printmonster will be sponsoring and attending The 3 O’Clock Club: Padel & Connect, a joint Chamber event bringing businesses together for networking, conversation and a bit of friendly competition.

As part of our sponsorship, Clive Poole, Sales Consultant at Printmonster, will be speaking during our five minute sponsor slot.

We’ll also have some free Printmonster merchandise to give away on the day, so if you’re attending, make sure you come and find us.

For us, joining the Chamber is about getting more involved with the local business community, meeting new people and building stronger connections across the wider West Midlands.

When you can’t find the right floor, create one! 🏡🎨

We’re continuing our look at some of the vinyl fitting projects we’ve been working on lately, and this one took us away from the workshop.

The customer wanted to change the flooring in their small porch area but had struggled to find something they liked that worked with the colours of the room.

Instead, we worked with the customer and created a design specifically for the space and the surrounding colours, printed a vinyl tile effect floor and fitted it over the existing flooring 👌

Vinyl can be used for much more than signs, stickers and vehicles. Projects like this show how a custom printed design can create an option when something suitable simply is not available off the shelf.

When a jet wash takes off more than dirt 🚗💦

We’re showcasing a couple of vinyl fitting projects this week, starting with this Mini that came into our workshop. 👀

The customer had accidentally used a jet washer at too high a pressure and removed part of the vinyl stripes from the front of the car.

We removed what was left of the damaged vinyl, colour matched the existing stripes, created a template, printed the replacement vinyl and fitted it here in the workshop. 🎨🔧

It’s a good example of how a vinyl job does not always mean starting again from scratch. Sometimes it is about working with what is already there and creating a replacement that fits in with the original design.

What does “bleed” actually mean in printing? ✂️

If your background colour or image runs right to the edge of your design, the artwork usually needs to extend slightly beyond the finished cut line. That extra area is called bleed. It helps reduce the chance of unwanted white edges appearing when the item is trimmed.

You may also hear us mention the safe area. This is the space inside the trim line where important information such as text, logos and contact details should sit.

What File Format Does My Printer Need? 😵

PDF, JPEG, PNG, AI… there are plenty of file formats, but which one should you actually send for printing?
For most, a high resolution PDF is usually a good place to start. If you are supplying a logo or graphic that may need to be enlarged, a vector file such as AI, EPS or SVG can be especially useful because it can be scaled without becoming pixelated.

The right file type can depend on what you are having printed, so we’ve put together a straightforward guide explaining the main options and when they are useful.
