I made a small step back into the yarn world this weekend with a visit to yarn show. It’s great to have a little yarn show so close to home, and with a stunning view! Had a fab time chatting to both old and new friends, and felt inspired to get some stitches on the go!

New pattern alert! Tvillingar Cowl is a double cowl for double cosiness! The cowls can also be made and worn separately, so it’s a 3-in-1 pattern!

As part of the Advent calendar Tvillingar is 24% off today with the code ‘advent23’, and all my other patterns are 20% off without any code, until tmw morning (Sunday 8am GMT).

Tvillingar cowl is made of 1 skein of DK yarn and 1 skein of surisilk held double, I’ve used yarn from in the Clayton and Wilson colourways 💙🩶

Throwback to 2020 and the Treola hat. Originally an MKAL pattern for charity during one of the lockdowns, it was amazing to see so many hats being knitted in endless colour combinations.

It’s time to get the hats out for winter, I always have a hat in the bag when it’s cold, it takes very little space and is such a quick way to warm up without bulky layers.

I’ve deserved this picture today. I’ve been climbing on stairs, ladders and scaffolding all weekend to paint the first part of our stairs and hallways. A fresh coat of paint really does lift a space.
So now I can feel good about putting my feet up and knit on the Pressed Flowers cowl in yarn from (Lamberton and Burnaby colourways are definitely a match made in heaven 😍)

Celebrate my birthday with a new pattern! 🥳
I’ve just released Partnership (or Tvåsamhet) on Ravelry and Payhip, a shawl for two skeins highlighting each other and creating a dance of two equals.

Today and tomorrow(20th) the pattern is 15% off, discount is automatic. I’m off to eat cake and a enjoy an unseasonably cold birthday, luckily I have my shawl 😄 Links to my patterns on Ravelry and Payhip are in my profile!

Summer holiday at the family farm usually means a new craft project for me, often something I haven’t done before or need access to my dad’s tool shed. Last year I started a Rya cushion from a vintage kit my mum found at the charity shop, this year I’ve started the second cushion. Slowly stitching, knot by knot, it’s a lovely break from my usual knitting.

Are you trying a new craft during your holidays? Or perhaps a special knitting project for summer?

A couple of months ago I test knitted the Maj socks for and after a long wait I’ve finally seen the recipient and managed to snap a photo (I had to be very fast as the 3.5 y/o would very unimpressed by sitting still).
Very cute socks fit for a little princess! I’m tempted to make myself a pair now 😃
Yarn is leftover sock yarn from unknown dyer and brushed alpaca-silk from big brand, the pattern is called Maj.

So fresh off the needles I’ve barely cut the yarn! This shawl has been in the works for many years, the darker shawl was knitted a few years back back and I’ve used it so much! When I picked up the half written pattern this spring I decided it was time for a paler version as well. My pattern writing has changed a bit since writing the original draft, so I’ve been doing a bit of updating and also translating into Swedish, it’s almost ready for test knitting, in both English and Swedish.

The shawl takes two full skeins of 4-ply yarn, the yarns used for the samples were all approx 365m/100g. The stripes allow both yarns to show without one of them stealing the spotlight. The darker sample is made in .a.stitch.up (La Vie en Rose and Shinjuku) and the pale in (limited edition colours from a few years back).

If you’re interested in knitting on of these shawls before 15th June, send me a DM with your email, Ravelry username and which language you would prefer.

In the meantime, I’ll weave in some ends! 😄

My new pattern Bobble Wrap will go live this afternoon and the sample will come with me to and kits for the yarn will be available from at the weekend (and on their website).
I’ve knitted this sample in TLGG yak sock in Grubby prism minis 7x10g and two 100g skeins of Cloudesley and it’s a dream to work with this yarn. The kit will also be available in TLGG high twist sock which takes up the dye differently and becomes brighter. The same colour kits were used for the Studs shawl and this is a larger cousin of the Studs pattern.

If you’re coming to EAYF this weekend, please pop by The Little Grey Girl’s stand and check out the Bobble Wrap and kits in person, I will be hanging out there most of the weekend as well so come and say hi!
