Due to a breakdown in communication, there will no longer be a drop off point in Canton or Roath. Please do not take any further items to either of these drop off locations as they will not be collected and will end up in our own black bins.

This page will also be deleted at some point as I am no longer in contact with Sara who collects the Terracycle items. You can find out where her other drop off points are on her page Ailgylchy/Recycling in Caerffili.

I really didn’t want it to come to this but my hands are tied. I just want to thank you all so much for your support and I hope you all manage to continue to recycle as much as you can.

Hiya folks!

Sara is now back and up running but unfortunately I’m unable to continue as a drop off point due to family and work commitments.

I’m looking for someone in the Canton area to take over as a drop off point. You can choose how often people drop to you. It can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly if need be (you’d likely have large amounts left if you go for monthly). Your address will be shared via PM to anyone looking to drop off. Please only get in touch if you either own your property or have permission from whoever does to have recycling left on the grounds in public areas.

I’m also looking for someone to help out with the admin of this group. I’ll still be around but taking a back seat due to everything I have going on.

Our Roath drop off will be starting back up again too!

For anyone who buys the GU dessert pots and would like a way to reuse them….

I’ve just found this seller on Etsy who has designed lids to fit them. They also fit the Aldi/Lidl versions. It means they can stack and be used as Tupperware!

Unfortunately, due to the unavailability of the lady who collects from me - Terracycle drop offs in Canton and Roath are suspended from now on. If she is able to facilitate this again in the future, I’ll let you all know.

For those who don’t already know - Terracycle don’t take Tetra Paks. Some councils take them but not Cardiff. They can be taken to the recycling centre and they have a bin for them there. We were only accepting them at the Canton address as we were taking them to the recycling centre with our own. We’re unable to continue to do this as the items are being left at various drop off points which becomes a logistical nightmare.

Unfortunately, due to Tetra Paks being left at other Cardiff drop off points, we will no longer be able to accept them at Canton.

We started collecting them at Canton under the understanding that it would only be us taking them as otherwise it adds on more work for Sara who already does a HUGE amount of unpaid work for this cause.

There is no drop off at Canton this weekend but Tetra Paks can be left next weekend for the last time.

This is the lady who sends everything off to the terracycle schemes. She collects from multiple drop off points and seperates, organises, boxes up and posts them off. All of this is unpaid. Thank you Sara for all you do 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The Canton drop off point is the only Cardiff address to accept TetraPaks as they will take them to the recycling centre with their own. Please only drop them to the Canton address and only if you are unable to take them to the recycling centre yourself.
