It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

All of us here at Resource give thanks for her immeasurable contributions to the UK and throughout the world and we extend our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the Royal Family.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our founder and friend, Nick Williams, who unexpectedly passed away on Sunday 17th April.

Nick established Resource in 1990, following the creation of a number of successful businesses. Over the last 30+ years, Nick led the development of companies in various industries, leaving a strong family of 18 businesses to continue in his memory.

We will all miss him more than words can express, and our thoughts are very much with Nick’s daughters, Katryn, Rhian and Beth, his five grandchildren and the rest of the family.

For those of you who would like to pay respects, we will share details of Nick's funeral as they become available.

What are some of our environmental & sustainability aims?

1) Reducing water consumption and encouraging a lower use of plastic bottles 💧

Inside our second business base, The Maltings, we have installed water fountains in every building and co-working space to aid water conservation & cut down on plastic bottles.
We have also recently installed a vacuum toilet system from Jets™ Group in the new toilet block, which uses 90% less water.

2) Reducing the reliance on paper products across Resource companies 📄

Wentloog Corporate Park has its own lake with established trees that were planted for environmental reasons - consequently, an array of local wildlife has thrived there for years.
To reduce our use of paper, we're transitioning to digital versions of all company brochures with far fewer being printed and have halted unnecessary printing, turning payslips and other paper files digital where possible.

A crucial precondition to tackling our environmental footprint is an awareness of how we are actually emitting carbon. 🔎

For several of our companies, we utilise an energy management partner which means we can more easily track our energy consumption to spot and fix problem areas creating a higher carbon footprint.

Our efforts are also tied to getting certified with environmental accreditations, such as ISO 14001:2015. ✅

ISO 14001 is now recognised globally as the most important environmental standard. It actively controls the way businesses and other organisations manage their environmental footprint, and we are proud to say that several Resource businesses are ISO 14001 accreditation holders. 🏆

Finally, our standards and certifications are kept on our Mango system [pictured] which is our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) management system, alerting and instructing our staff on how to stay on top of our environmental policies directly on their phones. ♻️

At Resource, we’re taking steps to reduce our carbon and energy emissions across all the companies in our fold.

Within the Maltings Group, we’ve started to introduce a local waste carrier. This allows us to reduce the transport required to collect the waste from our businesses – therefore cutting unnecessary vehicle emissions ✅

And at Wentloog Corporate Park, we are aiming to reduce our total waste production as well as increase our recycling habits and those of our employees by introducing separated waste bins ♻️

Our personal passion for environmental conservation has long been a part of our history.

When our business first began, our CEO developed the landscape & created the renowned lakes in the middle of our Wentloog site.

Now in 2022, we’re continuing our habitat preservation work to keep cultivating natural life - including picking litter & purchasing more land to protect it against unsustainable levels of commercial development 🌱

We’re very pleased to share the fresh new faces of sister brands Isoclad Ltd. and Securiclad, panel experts and nationwide manufacturers based in the North East.

Following a heavyweight brand and website overhaul, and combined with the imminent launch of their second manufacturing facility in Monmouth, the two companies will be entering 2022 stronger, ready to "pe*****te the market with strength and direction."

The end of an era! Jon Morse is retiring from Resource after 24 years.

We'd like to thank Jon for his contribution to the Resource family of businesses, which started on 2nd April 1997. He then took up his roles of Financial Director of Euro Quality Cladding Ireland (formerly Euroclad Ireland) and Euro Quality Coatings.

We wish him well in his retirement and best of luck for the future!
