You want to try Floristry…so what’s stopping you?!🥰

Maybe you’ve always loved flowers. Maybe you spend hours saving beautiful arrangements on Pinterest. Or maybe you’ve been looking for something creative that’s just for YOU.

Imagine spending time surrounded by beautiful flowers, learning new skills and leaving with something beautiful that you made with your own two hands 💐

That’s what a day at Cardiff Flower School is all about.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to be a florist. You just need to love flowers and fancy trying something new.

Ready to give it a go…?✨

We have Pay What You Like session in November that are the perfect place to start - drop me a 💐 for the link to book or head to the website.

We haven't gotten fully into the autumn swing yet, but I did think you would like to see these seeded eucalyptus!
Other fridge-based goodies include Memory Lane and Patz roses, a re-stock on our cheaper bouquet rose, and plenty of Moonwalk roses. In the larger fridge there is a range of alstro, some rather nice antirrhinum, limonium and fresh solidago.

For those of you wanting gourds or mini pumpkins, our wholesale department does have them in stock lately if you can make it down before 8 a.m. 😊🎃

The chrysanthemum fuegos are in!!

A lovely indicator of the season, our fridges have a selection of oranges, yellows, oakleaf and brassica!
If you're not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet, we have some pink dahlias, a really good selection of germini, and lots of fluffy white things (think waxflower, spray carnations, and gyp).

Hello! We're looking quite summery at the start of this week! A nice selection of white filler type flowers in the larger fridge, and delphinium in three shades of blue!
Sunflowers are always popular at time of year, and we have these mini ones looking quite happy.

And outside, fresh x8's lavender.

Snoop snoop - some super pretty flowers available from the fridges today, including pink larkspur, those orange and pink antirrhinum you all loved, and a fresh batch of spray roses!
Also a nice stock of peonies, which the season is starting to close on 🙁

Enjoy your retirement, you'll be missed!

A heartfelt farewell from Gwillim Florist Abercynon.

With mixed emotions, we announce that Gwillim Florist Abercynon will close its doors for the final time on Tuesday 30th June, as Lawson retires for a well-deserved break!

Since opening in 1952, our family business has had the privilege of serving the people of Abercynon and the surrounding communities for over 70 years. Through generations of customers, we have shared in life’s happiest celebrations, from weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, to offering comfort and support during times of loss.

For Lawson, this decision marks not only the closure of a business but the end of a family legacy that began with his parents Nita and Graeme, more than seven decades ago. Taking over the business and continuing the traditions, values and personal service that his parents established has been one of the greatest honours of his life.

Making the decision to retire has not been easy. Gwillim Florist has been far more than a shop - it has been a way of life, a place filled with friendships, stories, laughter and memories. We have watched families grow through generations and have been fortunate enough to become a small part of so many lives.

As we approach our final day on 30th June, Lawson and the family would like to offer their deepest and most sincere thanks to every employee, customer, friend, supplier and member of the community who has supported us throughout the years. Your loyalty, kindness and trust have enabled us to continue doing what we love for over seventy years.

While it is difficult to say goodbye, we leave with immense pride, gratitude and countless cherished memories. The support shown to our family since 1952 will never be forgotten.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and for making Gwillim Florist such a special part of Abercynon for generations.

With heartfelt thanks and best wishes,

Lawson and family

I'm sure I'm not the only one who takes dozens of photographs only to forget to post!

Lots of lovely stock out yesterday, we're doing our best to keep things in the fridge where possible due to the heat 🤗🌷
