If your job involves disturbing the fabric of buildings, asbestos awareness matters.

Electricians, plumbers, builders, carpenters, decorators, maintenance teams and other trades can all potentially encounter asbestos-containing materials during their everyday work.

Training gives you the knowledge to recognise potential risks and understand what you should - and shouldn't - do next.

You don't need to become an asbestos expert.

That's our job. 😉

You just need the right knowledge to work safely.

A commercial asbestos survey isn’t just another box to tick. 🏢

For businesses, landlords and those responsible for commercial premises, understanding where asbestos-containing materials may be present is an important part of managing the building safely.

The right survey can help you:
✔️ Identify potential asbestos-containing materials
✔️ Understand and manage the associated risks
✔️ Protect employees, contractors and visitors
✔️ Plan maintenance and refurbishment work safely
✔️ Meet your legal responsibilities

Most importantly, it means fewer nasty surprises when work gets underway - because discovering a potential asbestos issue halfway through a project is nobody’s idea of a good day. 😬

Found Something Suspicious? 👀

Spotted a material you're unsure about?

Step one: don't guess.

Helix offers one-off asbestos sample collection and laboratory analysis for those occasions when you simply need to know what you're dealing with.

Much better than the old "it'll probably be fine" approach...

Reviews like this are exactly why we love what we do! 💚

Our recent Emergency First Aid course wasn’t just about ticking a training box - it was about making sure everyone left feeling more confident and prepared should they ever face a real emergency.

Informative, practical, down to earth… and apparently the tea and biscuits went down pretty well too! 😂☕🍪

A huge thank you for such lovely feedback and a fantastic 5-star review. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A couple of recent surveys have taken the Helix team to two very different settings - a church and a school. ⛪🏫

Different buildings, different uses and different challenges, but the same thorough approach every time.

It’s one of the things we enjoy about surveying - no two sites are ever quite the same, and you never know where the next job will take you!

From asbestos surveys to Swansea 10K… Gareth and Kris have been putting in the miles in a slightly different way! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

A brilliant effort from them both completing the Swansea 10K - although we’re not sure whether the finish line or the much-deserved pint afterwards was the biggest motivation. 😂🍺

We’re never afraid to get stuck into the courses ourselves! 😂🙌

At Helix, we’d never ask anyone on one of our training courses to do something we wouldn’t be willing to do ourselves.

Whether it’s getting involved in the practical demonstrations, trying out the scenarios or occasionally making complete fools of ourselves in the name of learning… we’re in! 😂

So yes, you might see us looking slightly ridiculous from time to time… but it’s all part of the Helix training experience!

There's a little more to asbestos surveying than turning up with a clipboard.

Before we start, we'll take the time to understand the property, why the survey is being carried out and what work is planned.

Because the better we understand the project, the better information we can provide.

Then it's time to investigate... 🔎
