Lot 43 | 19th Century Rosewood Supper Table & Six Dining Chairs | Estimate: £200–£300

We are pleased to draw your attention to one of the more distinguished pieces in our forthcoming June auction. This handsome 19th century rosewood supper table, circular in form and measuring 132cm in diameter, features a beautifully carved tapering column, a trefoil base and boldly sculpted lions paw feet — details that reflect the very best of period cabinet making.

Offered together with a set of six matching 19th century rosewood bar back dining chairs on reeded front legs, this lot represents a wonderfully complete and characterful dining suite, estimated at just £200–£300.

The next Anthemion Auctions catalogue will go live this weekend. We warmly invite you to browse, share with fellow enthusiasts, and register your interest ahead of the auction on 10th June 2026.

Today's valuation day has begun on a remarkable note with the arrival of this Ferdinand Barbedienne bronze figure of Diana de Gabies, standing an impressive 51.5cm high.

Ferdinand Barbedienne was one of the most distinguished bronze foundries in nineteenth-century France, celebrated for the exceptional quality of its casting and finishing. This graceful figure of Diana, complete with the foundry's seal, is a fine testament to that enduring reputation.

Estimated at £500–£800, this piece offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a work of genuine distinction. The lot will be offered at our auction on 22nd July 2026 — we would love to hear from those with an interest in fine bronze sculpture. Please do share with anyone who might appreciate this wonderful piece.

Just look at this beauty! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨
Coming up in our auction on 22nd July, this is a genuinely rare piece of British royal history — a Lord Snowdon-designed 'Prince of Wales' Investiture chair from 1969, made for the historic investiture of Prince Charles at Caernarfon Castle.
Crafted from red-painted ash-laminate and boldly decorated with the Prince of Wales feathers and 'Ich Dien' motto in gilt, it's as visually striking in person as it looks in the photo! Originally made by Remploy, it comes complete with a separate seat cushion and is estimated to realise £300–£400.
Whether you're a royal memorabilia enthusiast or just love a conversation-starting statement piece, this one really is special.
📅 Auction: 22nd July
