Happy due date Ava...

Now we can see Christmas lights in your eyes but eleven weeks ago we just wanted you home safe with your eyes open. You hung on bravely for eight days before you decided it was time to join us. Then fought for every breath in those few minutes after you entered the world. I wish I didn't have to know what the statistics are for a preterm to have cerebral palsy or the chances of developing necrotising enterocolitis are... Blissful ignorance is a wonderful state of mind. Unfortunately you don't know you're in it until you're not. When all you can do is wait it's better not to go too far into the future. That future may not even happen. We're all guilty of it sometimes. Try to focus on now and what's in your control.

I'd just like to thank all family, friends, clients, colleagues for the warmest of wishes, cards, money and enough clothes to fill her wardrobe.

Apologies for everyone I've had to cancel, postpone or haven't been able to book in. Been a hard couple of months.

I'd like to thank all the staff in Glan Clwyd and the Air Ambulance crew for bringing Ava home. Having to drive 175 miles to see your daughter being born wasn't part of the plan. I'd like to thank the nurses and doctors in Prince Charles. Most of all I'd like to thank Becky for being an awesome Mum x
