Supply Chain Management Ltd

Supply Chain Management Ltd Improving performance throughout the supply chain.

We must be good.

Today I beat the Supply Chain of a well-known German car manufacturer.

Them: Can't get the part (hence my car won't start to come home from garage). It's on back-order (for three weeks with no known delivery date).
Me: SCML to the rescue. German ignition coil sourced and delivered in 24 hours.

Similar story with my medications.

If you have a problem with your supply chain, it could because you are using a SC suited to pre-brexit (albeit with some fixes). Time to look at your SC afresh.

You know where we are.

Expense Reduction
by Supply Chain Management Ltd

Why now?

Costs are increasing and customers are often unwilling to agree to sufficient price increases to cover these. Add to this the challenges of a post EU world and the impact of COVID-19, together with supply-chain issues impacting operations in a myriad of ways, and this leads to possibly the most challenging environment people in business have experienced.

A large number of businesses are currently struggling to control costs in these financially challenging times. We recognise that they need help.

There are opportunities for a robust business to move forward. A solid base can provide the foundations of a growing, profitable and successful endeavour.

How can savings be made?

Expense reduction can be made not just internally but throughout your supply chain. This includes reducing waste, improving processes, improving systems, reduction of unecessary cost and finding more effective ways to deliver what you do.

Having motivated people in your business is crucial. Our way is built on the principle that costs are best controlled by those closest to them. In that way, the benefits can continue after our involvement.

Hydrofoils have been suggested for cross-channel surface routes. Traditional ferries and catamaran ferries operate routes at the moment and there has been a Hovercraft service.

Hydrofoils had their peak in popularity in the 1960s and '70s. Since then there has been a steady decline in their use and popularity.

The current 'state of play' on the technology and economics of Hydrofoils are [1]:-

* Sensitive to impacts with floating objects and marine animals.

* Expensive to build.

* Technically complex and require high maintenance.

* Problems operating in sea-going situations, heavy swell or high winds.

* Limits to size and capacity.

Hence business cases can be difficult to develop unless there are sufficient customers willing to pay a sufficiently high price.
